    摘要: Methods of making MEMS devices including interferometric modulators involve depositing various layers, including stationary layers, movable layers and sacrificial layers, on a substrate. Voids are formed in one or more of the various layers so as to form a non-planar surface on the movable and/or the stationary layers. The voids are formed to extend through less than the entire thickness of the layer where they are being formed. Other layers may be formed over the formed voids. Removal of the sacrificial layer from between the resulting non-planar movable and/or stationary layers results in a released MEMS device having reduced contact area between the movable and stationary layers when the MEMS device is actuated. The reduced contact area results in lower adhesion forces and reduced stiction during actuation of the MEMS device. These methods may be used to manufacture released and unreleased interferometric modulators.

The document can be printed using the redaction template, wherein information in the redaction template is used to redact sections of the document prior to printing the document on a print medium. In some embodiments, the redaction template, and the document associated with the redaction template may be separate files. The method can be invoked using document processing software, and/or a printer driver, and user interfaces associated with document processing software may be used to create the redaction template, which can be stored as a document layer. Redactions stored in the template may also be associated with a security level.

    摘要: A printing method that allows a user to initiate printing of files on a host computer from the printer side with one or more button touches. The user initiates printing from the printer using one or more buttons, such as a dedicated easy print button. The printer sends a data request to the host computer. A printer monitoring program on the host computer receives and responds to printer requests. Upon receiving the data request from the printer, the host computer finds the most active application window (the window on top of all other windows), calls the application's default printing setting, generates a printing task for the most active opened file, and sends it to the printer. The printer prints the file received from the host computer. Other printing modes are also possible, such as printing all opened files in the most active application, etc.
