摘要: A system, method, and apparatus for palletizing cargo on a rack for shipment are provided. The system generally includes a tiered rack having a base tier, a support framework extending from the base tier, and a second tier adjustably attached to the support framework. The system may further include a plurality of lower frame support members positioned longitudinally across the bottom of the base tier, and a plurality of pneumatically actuated rollers spaced to cooperatively engage the plurality of lower frame support members, the rollers being selectively extendable from a plurality of raised tracks positioned longitudinally along a floor of the railcar, where the rollers are configured to pneumatically extend past an upper surface of the track when actuated and allow for linear motion thereover.

摘要: A cone support for use with a stud, the cone support includes a hollow truncated cone with an apex and a base. The hollow truncated cone includes an apex aperture disposed at the apex and a base aperture disposed at the base. The apex aperture has a threaded internal diameter. The apex aperture and base aperture communicate within a cone chamber, the cone chamber is disposed within the interior of the cone and between the apex aperture and the base aperture. The stud is placeable within the apex aperture, the cone chamber and the base aperture such that the cone support protects the stud from shear forces when the stud is stressed perpendicular to its axis.

摘要: A plow assembly includes a housing, a shaft having a first eccentricity and a shaft having a second eccentricity. The shaft having a first eccentricity is mounted within the housing for rotation about a first axis of rotation, and the shaft having a second eccentricity is mounted within the housing for rotation about a second axis of rotation. The assembly also includes a surface breaker blade and a balancing assembly. The surface breaker blade is mounted on the shaft having a first eccentricity in such a manner that rotation of the shaft having a first eccentricity causes the surface breaker blade to move in response to the first eccentricity of the shaft. The balancing assembly is mounted on the shaft having the second eccentricity in such a manner that rotation of the shaft having the second eccentricity causes the balancing assembly to move in response to the second eccentricity of the shaft. The assembly also includes a mechanism for rotating the shaft having a first eccentricity about the first axis of rotation, and a mechanism for rotating the shaft having a second eccentricity about the second axis of rotation.

摘要: The present invention provides an assay, suitable for neonatal screening of hemoglobinopathies by quantitatively determining the presence of at least one pair of hemoglobin (Hb) variants, determining the ratio between the signals obtained from each variant; and, based on that ratio, determining whether the tested subject is afflicted or not.

摘要: A conveyor system is provided to limit the vertical fall experienced by a product transported along the conveyor and falling into a collection bin. A sensor in a fixed position relative to the product conveying plane of the conveyor measures product collection height in a collection bin to produce an output signal. A controller dynamically varies the angle between the conveyance plane and the collection bin base plane and the vertical displacement therebetween within a preselected range in order to minimize product damage associated with different fall trajectories from the conveyor into the bin for product. Either the conveyor or the collection bin is pivoted under the command of the controller to accomplish the desired function.
