    Abstract: A method and device for photodynamic therapy for treating cancer. The method includes: providing a photodynamic therapeutic device for treating cancer. The provided device includes a plurality of light emitting diodes that are positionable in proximity of a patient's body and are adapted to provide a light fluence to a lesion area. The method also includes administering an effective dose of a photosensitizer in the lesion area; positioning the device in proximity to the patient's body; and irradiating the patient's body.

The cooling and/or heating sources are configured to respectively cool and heat an enclosed space. The controller is configured to receive an apparent temperature set point.     Abstract: The invention discloses a Light Irradiating Unit (LIU) for providing radiant energy safely to a treatment site within the human body during treatment sessions. the LIU is comprised of the following modules: an Irradiating Array (IA) comprising LED's longitudinally disposed in a single row along a flexible support member; an external LED Controller and Power Supply (CPS); an Array Housing Catheter (AHC) for enclosing and guiding said IA to the treatment site; and a Cooling Catheter (CC) for enclosing and cooling the AHC during treatment sessions; the CC connects to a standard intra venous bag, containing cooling fluid, the is bag adapted to provide gravity induced cooling fluid flow through the CC during treatment sessions; the CC further adapted to provide drainage of the cooling fluid during said treatment sessions.

    Abstract: A photodynamic therapeutic device for treating cancer is disclosed. The therapeutic device comprises at least one light emitting diode attachable to a patient's body adapted to provide an effective light fluence to a lesion area. The therapeutic device further comprises an annular structure embracing the patient's body and a passage connectable to a cooling loop providing a coolant circulative into the passage. The light emitting diode is secured to an inner surface of the annular structure. The coolant accommodated in the passage is adapted for removing heat generated by the light emitting diode.
