C. at 760 mmHg; holding the membrane between a pair of smooth plates; and heating the membrane at 50.degree. to 180.degree. C.; and if the diene derivative having carboxylic acid convertible group is used, converting said groups into carboxylic acid groups.

The controller controls the charge and discharge of the lithium-ion secondary battery to maintain the temperature obtained by the temperature sensor at a level lower than an upper limit temperature allowed in the lithium-ion secondary battery. The controller estimates the amount of precipitation of lithium in the lithium-ion secondary battery and reduces the upper limit temperature in accordance with an increase in the amount of precipitation.
