    摘要: Phosphonic acid esters obtained by reacting organophosphonic acids corresponding to the general formula R--PO.sub.3 H.sub.2, in which R is preferably an alkyl group containing from 6 to 18 C-atoms, with from 1 to 10 moles and preferably with from 1 to 5 moles of ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide. These esters are useful as additives to hair treatment preparations, preferably to shampoos based on anionic surfactants and, preferably, ampholytic or betaine surfactants for improving the wet combability of hair. They are added in amounts between 0.1 to 10% by weight to hair treatment preparations, and between 1 and 5% by weight to shampoos.

    摘要: Hair-treatment preparations containing as additive at least one surface-active phosphonic acid corresponding to general formula I, II or III below ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents a C.sub.5 -C.sub.21 alkyl, R.sup.2 represents hydrogen or --PO.sub.3 H.sub.2, and R.sup.3 represents hydrogen, hydroxyl, or, if R.sup.2 is --PO.sub.3 H.sub.2, --NH.sub.2, and R.sup.4 represents hydrogen or a lower alkyl group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a water-soluble salt thereof, improved the wet combability of hair and reduce its tendency to develop static charges. Octane-1-phosphonic acid, decane-1-phosphonic acid and dodecane-1-phosphonic acid or their salts are particularly effective. The phophonic acids are used in quantities of from 0.05 to 10% by weight, and preferably in quantities of from 0.1 to 2.0% by weight together with anionic tensides.

    摘要: A process for reducing the content of free formaldehyde and formic acid in nonionic and anionic surfactants is provided. The process comprises adding an amine compound selected from the group consisting of a) alkanolamines, b) aminocarboxylic acids and c) oligopeptides to a surfactant comprised of a member selected from the group consisting of nonionic and anionic surfactants. The amine compound is preferably selected from the group consisting of a) an alkanolamine containing 2 to 15 carbon atoms, b) an aminocarboxylic acid containing 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and c) an oligopeptide with an average molecular weight of 500 to 5000. The nonionic and anionic surfactants preferably contain 1 to 100 ethylene oxide units in the form of at least one polyethylene glycol chain. The amine compound is preferably added in a quantity of 50 to 6000 ppm, based on active substance of said surfactant.

    摘要: Low viscosity amphoteric surfactants are prepared by quaternization of low diamine content imidazolines by a process in which certain addition and temperature parameters are strictly observed. Imidazolines suitable as a starting material may be obtained by heating fatty acids and aminoethanolamine in an inert solvent until water is eliminated, removing the water formed from the reaction mixture by azeotropic distillation and, finally, distilling off the solvent and the residual amine.
