摘要: The present invention relates to space-time coding techniques capable of providing incremental redundancy in wireless communication environments incorporating spatial and temporal diversity. In general, a transmitter sends packets, via blocks of symbols, to a receiver with high bandwidth efficiency and only in the event that the receiver does not correctly receive a data packet does the transmitter send additional symbols to assist with the decoding of the incorrectly received packet. A hybrid ARQ feedback mechanism is used such that the receiver can inform the transmitter whether the packets were correctly or incorrectly received. From the feedback, the transmitter can determine whether to send new symbols or initiate incremental redundancy. By combining the received words corresponding to the redundant symbols and those of the original packet transmission, additional diversity, coding gain, signal energy, or a combination thereof are provided to the receiver and are used to correctly decode the transmitted data.

摘要: The present disclosure relates, in part, to non-terrestrial communication systems, and in some embodiments to the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial communication systems. Non-terrestrial communication systems can provide a more flexible communication system with extended wireless coverage range and enhanced service quality compared to conventional communication systems. A method representative of aspects of the present application includes receiving, by an apparatus connected in a first sub-system, from a radio access network, configuration information for performing a channel condition measurement on a second sub-system, reporting, by the apparatus to the radio access network, channel condition measurement of a downlink reference signal received from the second sub-system, transmitting, by the apparatus, a wireless transmission to the second sub-system responsive to the channel condition measurement meeting a predefined condition.

摘要: Soft handoff in an OFDMA system is disclosed. If the pilot signal strength for a base station exceeds the defined threshold, the base station is added to an active set list. Subcarriers in a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols are divided and allocated into subchannels. The OFDM symbols are divided and multiplexed. A soft handoff zone with a first dimension of the subchannels and a second dimension of the divided and multiplexed OFDM symbols is defined. The soft handoff zone has subcarriers with a subchannel definition, for example, an identical permutation.
