摘要:
The present application relates to an ultrasound temperature mapping system and method. The ultrasound temperature mapping system for measuring a temperature of an object comprises an ultrasound transducer and a processing module. The ultrasound transducer is configured to acquire a first image and a second image with respect to the object. The processing module implements a zero-crossing algorithm to process the first image to yield a plurality of first zero-crossing points and implements a cross-correlation algorithm to process the first image and the second images based on the plurality of first zero-crossing points so as to obtain a plurality of displacements. The processing module further calculates the temperature based on the plurality of displacements.

A non-invasive positioning system for determining the focus location of a HIFU device comprises a diagnostic ultrasound and the HIFU for ablating and removing tumor tissue. The imaging plane of the diagnostic ultrasound probe and the geometrical axis of a probe of the HIFU define an inclining angle during operation. When the imaging plane of the diagnostic ultrasound intersected to the focus of the HIFU transducer, a maximal convergent interference signals was obtained, so as to position the HIFU focus within tumors for precise ablation.

A carotid pulse measurement device provided for measuring carotid pulse of a user's neck includes a band, an artery-pressing air cell, an inflating/deflating device, and a pressure detection unit. The band functions to surround the user's neck. The air cell is arranged in the band and is fluidly connected to the inflating/deflating device for selectively inflating/deflating the air cell. The pressure detection unit detects variation of pressure inside the air cell. To use the measurement device, the band is put around the user's neck with the air cell positioned exactly corresponding to the carotid artery of the neck so that the pressure detection device detects the pressure variation and generates a digital pulse signal, which is employed to calculate arteriosclerosis index of the user for evaluation the degree of arteriosclerosis of the user.

The 14-3-3β protein is used herein as a tumor marker for prognosis in gastric cancer. The method comprises steps of providing a biological sample, qualifying the 14-3-3β protein level in the sample, and comparing the 14-3-3β protein level in the sample with a normal sample. Upon the 14-3-3β protein level in the biological sample is higher than in the normal sample, which represents the patient providing the sample has a poor prognosis. Having the higher sensitivity and specificity, 14-3-3β protein can be used as a tumor marker for prognosis of gastric cancer.

The present invention provides a method for inhibiting peritoneal metastasis caused by gastric cancer cells in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutically effective amount of a connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), wherein the CTGF binds to an integrin α3β1 of the gastric cancer cells. The present invention also provides a method for predicting peritoneal metastasis caused by gastric cancer cells in a subject comprising providing a peritoneal tissue from the subject; measuring a first expression amount of a connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) from the peritoneal tissue; and comparing the first expression amount to a reference expression amount of the CTGF from a non-peritoneal metastasis gastric cancer tissue.

Disclosed is a method for survival prediction in gastric cancer patents after surgical operation, which uses a survival prediction model determined by known statistical method and gene expression microarray profiles. The survival prediction model is established by selecting special genes expressing significantly differential from pairs of cancerous and noncancerous tissue samples from patients with known survival conditions after surgical operation, confirming the concordance of RT-PCR analysis with the microarray gene expression profile, identifying most specific genes among the special genes using a statistical method, and determining the survival prediction model based on training set samples. The method of the present invention can be applied in gastric cancer patients to predict survival conditions after surgical operation and to provide a strategy for succeeding treatment and a reference for adjuvant chemotherapy.
