    摘要: A ReRAM device manufactured using 2-D Si2Te3 (silicon telluride) nanowires or nanoplates. The Si2Te3 nanowires exhibit a unique reversible resistance switching behavior driven by an applied electrical potential, which leads to switching of the NWs from a high-resistance state (HRS) to a low-resistance state (LRS). This switched LRS is highly stable unless the opposite potential is applied to switch the resistance back. This provides a new class of resistive switching based on semiconductor rather than dielectric materials. In several embodiments, the polarity of the initially applied potential along the Si2Te3 nanowires defines the switch “on” and “off” directions, which become permanent once set.

    摘要: Methods and compositions are provided for modulating the activity of macrophage and macrophage-like cells, particularly by modulating the peptidase activity of such cells. In certain aspects, methods are provided for enhancing or suppressing the immune function of a host by increasing or decreasing, respectively, expression of a target peptidase in host macrophage and macrophage-like cells. Such methods for enhancing or suppressing the immune function of a host by increasing or inhibiting (suppressing or silencing) expression of a target peptidase in host macrophage and macrophage-like cells find use in methods for treating and/or preventing a number of diseases and conditions, including cancer, viral and/or bacterial infection, Alzheimer's disease, tissue transplant rejection, autoimmune diseases, and chronic inflammatory diseases. The invention also provides compositions and research tools related to these methods, including vectors for increasing or inhibiting the expression of a peptidase in macrophage and macrophage-like cells, macrophage and macrophage-like cells transfected with these vectors, genetically modified mice that over-express a target peptidase or in which expression of a target peptidase has been disrupted, and selective modulators of peptidase activity in macrophages as well as methods for identifying and using such modulators.

    摘要: A system which allows easy manual connection of the water bottle of a water cooler, with its bottle placed in an upright position at the bottom of the cooler (bottom load water cooler), to the remaining water system of the said water cooler and the related bottom load water cooler system. With the said system, connecting or disconnecting the water bottle of such water cooler system is a task as simple as manually turning a rotational handle clockwise or counter clockwise. This allows replacing the water bottle of such water cooler without touching any of its water pipes, which not only simplifies the process, but more importantly also eliminates chance of contamination of the drinking water system during the process. The system further utilizes a universal water bottle sealing cap with air filters to suppress bacteria growth in the drinking water bottle due to intake of polluted air. A reversible pressing system allows automatically adjustment for water bottles of different height and allows using the same type of water bottle as those used on conventional water cooler with its water bottle sitting on top of it in an inverted position (top load water cooler). All these features make it simpler and safer to enjoy the benefit brought by the bottom load water cooler system and bring the hygiene standard of such system to a higher level.

The upgradeable hub, thus, can be upgraded by adding the hub upgrade, without the need for discarding the original hub when performing a hub upgrade.
