摘要: The invention relates to the field of structural reinforcement, sealing, damping, baffling, or the like of elements, preferably of hollow structures or cavities, by means of a thermally expandable composition comprising (i) a polymer component; (ii) azodicarbonamide; and (iii) a metal oxide powder capable of catalyzing thermal decomposition of azodicarbonamide at elevated temperature, wherein at least about 90 wt.-% of particles within the metal oxide powder have a particle size of at most about 200 μm determined by sieve analysis; wherein the weight ratio of the azodicarbonamide to the metal oxide powder is at least about 5.0, preferably at least about 10, more preferably at least about 15, still more preferably at least about 16.50, preferably about 17, and yet more preferably at least about 20; preferably at most about 80; more preferably at most about 70, still more preferably at most about 60, yet more preferably at most about 50, even more preferably at most about 40, most preferably at most about 30. The thermally expandable composition leads to low odor formation and low ammonia emission during and after the foaming process.

The composition of the present invention is useful for making coatings on paper or paperboard substrates with excellent moisture barrier and tack properties.

摘要: Disclosed herein are a fiber-reinforced material and an article made of the same. The fiber-reinforced material includes a fiber assembly and a matrix material coating the fiber assembly, the matrix material is a thermoplastic resin composition obtained by blending a polyolefin resin, a polyamide resin, and a modified elastomer that reacts with the polyamide resin. When a puncture test is performed at a striker speed of 1-4 msec and when a maximum impact force is applied is defined as PM and a deflection at break is defined as PB, PB/PM≥4. When the amount of energy absorbed before a maximum impact force is applied is E1, the amount of energy absorbed after a maximum impact force is applied and before break is E2, and a total amount of absorbed energy of E1 and E2 is ET, the ratio of E2:ET is 70% or more.

摘要: A composition for preparing a foam, a foam, and a shoe employing the foam are provided. The composition for preparing a foam includes 3-30 parts by weight of a first polymer and at least one of a second polymer and a third polymer. The first polymer is cyclic olefin polymer (COP), cyclic olefin copolymer (COC), metallocene based cyclic olefin copolymer (mCOC), fully hydrogenated conjugated diene-vinyl aromatic copolymer, or a combination thereof. The total weight of the second polymer and the third polymer is 70-97 parts by weight. The second polymer is polyolefin, olefin copolymer, or a combination thereof. The third polymer is conjugated diene-vinyl aromatic copolymer, partially hydrogenated conjugated diene-vinyl aromatic copolymer, or a combination thereof. The total weight of the first polymer and at least one of the second polymer and the third polymer is 100 parts by weight.

摘要: Provided are talc-filled polycarbonate compositions, and methods for making the same. The talc-filled polycarbonate compositions include a polycarbonate, a talc, and a modifier composition. The modifier composition according to embodiments disclosed herein comprises (i) from 5 to 95 wt. % of an ethylene interpolymer comprising copolymerized units of ethylene and a comonomer selected from the group consisting of maleic anhydride, maleic acid monoester, maleic acid diester, fumaric acid monoester, carboxylic acid, itaconic acid, fumaric acid, itaconic acid monoester, and combinations thereof, and (ii) from 5 to 95 wt. % of an ethylene/methyl acrylate copolymer having a melt index (½) of greater than 15 g/10 min. The talc-filled polycarbonate compositions according to embodiments disclosed herein exhibit an improved dart impact.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention relate to compositions, multilayer films, and articles. In one aspect, a composition comprises (a) an ionomer that is an acid copolymer comprising ethylene and at least one of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, wherein a portion of the acid groups in the acid copolymer are neutralized by metal ions and are carboxylic acid salts, and wherein the acid copolymer, prior to neutralization of acid groups by metal ions, comprises 5 to 30 weight percent of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid; (b) an ethylene/unsaturated ester copolymer comprising ethylene vinyl acetate, ethylene acrylate, or a combination thereof; and (c) a propylene-based polymer comprising a copolymer of propylene and a comonomer comprising ethylene, butene, hexene, or octene, wherein the propylene-based polymer has a molecular weight distribution (MWD) of less than 3.0, and a viscosity ratio (viscosity at 0.1 s−1/viscosity at 100 s−1) of greater than 7.0.
