    摘要: Techniques are presented for improving packet detection within a wireless device in the presence of platform noise. In some embodiments, packet detection is carried out by first performing a correlation operation using a signal at an input of a wireless receiver. The result of the correlation may then be compared to a threshold value in order to make a packet arrival decision. The threshold value may be varied during device operation in a manner that enhances packet detection performance.

    摘要: An ultrasound and radio frequency technology is used to implement presence sensor capability for wireless devices such as, a laptap device. For example, the laptap device connects to a station device through a WiFi signal. In this example, the WiFi signal may include a data packet that synchronizes internal clocks of the laptap device with the station device. Further, the data packet may include transmitting time information for an ultrasound audio signal generated by the station device. The ultrasound audio signal is received by the laptap device that calculates time of flight (TOF) of the ultrasound audio signal. The TOF may be used to determine actual distance of the wireless device (e.g., laptap device) to the station device.

The method may include receiving, by a computer, a selection to detect wireless display devices. The computer may include one or more processors, a radio transceiver, and a microphone. The method may also include identifying, by the radio transceiver, a plurality of wireless display device and transmitting, by the radio transceiver, respective connection requests to the plurality of wireless display devices. Additionally, the method may include transmitting, by the radio transceiver to the wireless display devices, respective requests for inaudible audio signal transmission. The method may also include receiving, by the microphone, a plurality of inaudible audio signals from the wireless display devices. Further still, the method may include determining, based at least in part on the plurality of inaudible audio signals, whether any of the plurality of wireless display devices are in the same room as the computer.
