Moreover, a inter-layer insulating film made of an organic material is provided on thin film transistors of respective picture elements, and a picture element electrode is provided on the inter-layer insulating film. Furthermore, the liquid crystal display device is provided with an additional capacity common wiring which is provided on the inter-layer insulating film and forms an additional capacity section between the picture element electrode and the additional capacity common wiring. As a result, the liquid crystal display device can realize high quality and a high aperture ratio.

    摘要: A thin-film semiconductor device having a CMOS inverter comprising a pair of n-type and p-type thin-film transistors, wherein the gate electrode of at least one of the paired thin-film transistors comprises a plurality of gate electrode sections spaced apart along the channel length. The channel region of the n-type thin-film transistor is doped with p-type impurities. This structure serves to reduce the leakage current and maintain high OFF resistance for a high source-drain voltage. Further, since a good symmetry of characteristics is maintained between the n-type and p-type thin-film transistors that constitute the CMOS inverter, no appreciable bias is caused in the output voltage of the CMOS inverter.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes an active matrix array made up of switching elements provided at each intersection between a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of signal lines, and a vertical drive circuit for driving the active matrix array, in which the vertical drive circuit includes: scanning circuits N in number (N being a positive integer), which receive a start pulse and output pulse signals, the respective scanning circuits sequentially shifting the pulse signal by one-half of a clock signal cycle each; AND gate circuits N×M in number (M being an integer no less than 2), each provided with a first control terminal and a second control terminal, every M adjacent AND gate circuits being connected together via the first control terminals thereof, which receive a signal from one of the N scanning circuits, and every Mth AND gate circuit being connected together via the second control terminals thereof, which receive one of M kinds of second control signal; and NAND gate circuits, each of which receives an output from one of the AND gate circuits and one of two kinds of third control signal outputted by a third control terminal.
