A plurality of first electrode portions is disposed at a first interval in the first sub-pixel area, and a plurality of second electrode portions is disposed at a second interval in the second sub-pixel area. The first electrode portion has a first width, and the second electrode portion has a second width. The first width of the first electrode portion is different from the second width of the second electrode portion, or the first interval between adjacent first electrode portions is different from the second interval between adjacent second electrode portions.

摘要： Provided are a Vestigial Side Band (VSB) Digital Television (DTV) transmitter and receiver based on the Advanced Television System Committee (ATSC) A/53, and a method thereof. The present invention provides 8-VSB DTV transmitter and receiver that can improve reception performance of the receiver by transmitting and receiving robust data mixed with P-2VSB, E-4VSB, and/or E-8VSB. The DTV transmitter includes an input means for receiving a digital video data stream including normal data and robust data; an encoding means for coding the digital video data stream into data symbols; and a transmitting means for modulating and transmitting an output signal of the encoding means, wherein the encoding means performs trellis coding on the robust data by sequentially applying a plurality of trellis coding methods.

摘要： Method and apparatus for use, e.g., with Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory (SDRAM) circuits are disclosed. In one described embodiment, three metal layers are deposited and patterned in turn overlying a memory array portion of an SDRAM. Relatively wide power conductors are routed on a third metal layer, allowing power conductors to be reduced in size, or in some cases eliminated, on first and second metal layers. The relatively wide power conductors thus can provide a more stable power supply to the memory array, and also free some space on first and/or second metal for routing of additional and/or more widely spaced signal conductors. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

摘要： Provided is a method for searching for an optimal coder suitable to a dual stream transmission method of a DTV transceiving apparatus, and an encoder and a decoder employing the optimal coder searching method. The optimal coder searching method includes the steps of: a) determining a mixed pattern of normal stream and robust stream; b) determining a trellis structure of the robust stream which is applied to the mixed pattern based on how coders are connected; c) forming a dual stream trellis by mixing a trellis of the normal stream, which is a normal stream trellis, and a trellis of the robust stream, which is a robust stream trellis; d) computing a free distance at departing points of the dual stream trellis structure based on a dual stream free distance computation termination condition; and e) determining the optimal coder based on the free distance.

The system includes: an encoder for generating 2D ES and 3D supplementary ES by encoding 2D video and 3D supplementary data; a packetizer for generating 2D video PES and 3D supplementary PES by packetizing the 2D video ES and the 3D supplementary ES; a PSI generator for generating a PSI; a TS generator for generating 2D video TS and 3D supplementary TS for the 2D video PES and the 3D supplementary PES; a multiplexer for multiplexing the transport streams to transmit the 2D video TS as a normal stream and transmit the 3D supplementary TS, the PSI TS and 3D video synch data TS as robust stream; and a modulator for modulating the multiplexed TS according to a DTV specification and transmitting the modulated TS.
