摘要: A vertebra correcting and fixing device including: a vertebra fixing screw to be threadedly connected to a vertebra; A movable spherical body which can be combined with this vertebra fixing screw; and a clamping screw threadedly connected to the movable spherical body. The movable spherical body is substantially spherical, has a split through-hole formed in the diametrical direction thereof, and also has a screw hole extending at right angles to tho split through hole and communicating therewith. Provision is made such that the clamping screw is threadedly connected to this screw hole. The vertebra fixing screw is provided at one end thereof with a threaded portion and at the other end thereof with a groove-shape scat portion for receiving and holding the movable spherical body. The seat portion is capable of rotatably holding the spherical body.

摘要: A vertebral surgery instrument includes: an engagement part for engaging with a pair of opposing parts provided on or attached to a vertebral implant in a state in which the vertebral implant is fixed to a vertebra, the pair of opposing parts forming a slit into which a fixation rod for fixing a plurality of vertebrae to each other is to be inserted; and a pair of guide parts that are provided integrally with or attached to the engagement part. The pair of guide parts are formed extending so as to separate from each other toward a side on which the fixation rod is to be inserted, in a state in which the engagement part is engaged with the pair of opposing parts, and the slit and a guide passage that is formed between the pair of guide parts are in communication with each other.

摘要: An extender is removed from a spinal implant without using a separate device, and the loss of materials to be discarded is reduced. A head part of a spinal implant includes a base part, which is provided as a portion on a screw part side, and a pair of tab parts, which extend from the base part to an opposite side to the screw part side. The pair of tab parts have a tab part-side engagement part to be engaged by an extender-side engagement part that is formed on the extender. A weak part is formed between the base part and the pair of tab parts, the weak part being configured to be broken by an external force from the extender engaged with the pair of tab parts and separate the pair of tab parts from the base part.

摘要: A method for creating a monkey model of spinal cord injury, which includes exposing the dura mater of the cervical cord of a monkey and applying a load on the dura mater; the thus-created monkey model of spinal cord injury; and a method for evaluating a therapeutic drug for spinal cord injury by use of this model. According to the present invention, it is possible to create a monkey which is close to the human and thus useful as a model of human spinal cord injury. This model enables proper evaluation of therapeutic effects of various drugs on spinal cord injury. Through use of this model, it has been confirmed for the first time that transplantation therapy of human neural stem cells is efficacious against spinal cord injury.

摘要: The present invention provides a remedy for a nerve dysfunctional disorder such as a central nervous system damage including a spinal cord injury and a cerebral infarction and the like having an excellent nerve regeneration promoting action which can be administered not only by injecting into a injured site but also by various administration methods including intravenous administration, which can be easily handled and stored over a long time, and can be prepared in a large amount at any time. Said remedy for a nerve dysfunctional disorder such as a central nervous system damage including a spinal cord injury and a cerebral infarction and the like are prepared by using the following as active ingredients: one or more substances selected from a substance secreted from dendritic cells such as IL-12, GM-CSF and the like, a substance inducing and proliferating dendritic cells, a substance activating dendritic cells; a substance inducing the expression of a neurotrophic factor in nerve tissues, a substance inducing and proliferating microglias and macrophages in nerve tissues; and a vector which can expresses the aforementioned substances; or dendritic cell subsets secreting a neurotrophic factor such as NT-3, CNTF, TGF-β1, IL-6, and EGF.

摘要: It is intended to provide a method of efficiently inducing the growth of nerve stem cells, which are most important in transplantation therapy for nerve damage and neurological dysfunction, either in vitro or in vivo, a method of using the nerve stem cells obtained by the above growth induction method, etc. A mammalian nerve tissue containing nerve stem cells is separated and the nerve stem cells are selectively cultured in a medium containing growth factors such as EGF and FGF. Next, the nerve stem cells are co-cultured with dendritic cell such as an immature dendritic cell subset having a CD11c surface marker on the cell surface, spleen cells or blood cell-type cells such as CD8-positive T cells. Alternatively, the nerve stem cells after the culture are further cultured in the presence of GM-CSF or the nerve stem cells after the culture are further cultured in a culture supernatant of dendritic cells or a culture supernatant of blood cell-type cells.
