摘要: A means for detecting a presence of a particular material in the air, a filter for an air conditioner which can confirm the presence of the particular material in the air, and a method for confirming a performance of the filter for an air conditioner about a removal of the particular material and/or a lifetime of the filter for an air conditioner are provided. The particular material present in the air is detected by a color change of a colorimetric sensor comprising a receptor molecule specifically binding with the particular material in the air, and a polymer molecule whose light absorbency is altered due to binding of the particular material and the receptor molecule.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for determining the drug sensitivity of a microbe which comprises pouring a microbial suspension into each of the compartments or wells at a position which is in the vicinity of an electrode for measuring dissolved oxygen concentration, measuring current from each electrode at a second time interval for a third time period, each time is obtained based upon each of the measured currents at which the maximum current is obtained, obtaining each current value within a fourth time period which starts from the time at which the maximum current is obtained, detecting drug sensitivity based upon the variation condition of each current value during the fourth time period. The method allows rapid drug susceptibility measurements.

摘要: A method and apparatus wherein measurement current values output from a first oxygen sensor and a second oxygen sensor are time sequentially measured. Each moving average value is calculated from each sequential measurement current value. Each time differential value is calculated from the pair of each calculated moving average values, by least squares approximation. Then, drug susceptibility is measured based upon each calculated time differential value, so that drug the susceptibility measurement is performed quickly or accurately.

摘要: The present teachings disclose a device for the prevention of exhaust gas leakage during the movement of an electrode in an electric furnace having a waste charging section, an electrode holder attached to the electrode, and an actuator for moving the electrode between a first and second position within an aperture formed in an upper portion of the electric furnace. The device includes a fixed section attached to the waste charging station of the electric furnace. The device includes a first moving section moveably coupled with the fixed section, a second moving section moveably coupled with the first section and fixedly attached to the electrode holder on a first side, and a third moving section fixedly attached to the electrode holder on a second side opposite the first side. The device moves between a retracted position, such that the first and second moving sections are positioned adjacent to the fixed member, and an extended position, such that the first and second moving sections are positioned distally from the fixed member.

According to the present invention, polychlorinated biphenyl and mixture of alumina oxide and silicon dioxide are mixed and emulsified in an ultrasonic emulsifier 2. The emulsified mixture is then charged into an electric resistance type melting furnace 5 and is melted at temperature of 1500.degree. C.-2000.degree. C. and is turned to glassy state.

摘要: The present teachings relate to a electrostatic precipitator having a plurality of electrostatic precipitation units positioned within the electrostatic precipitator. Each of the electrostatic precipitation units includes a plurality of negative wire electrodes and a plurality of positive electrode plates. The electrostatic precipitation units are arranged such that spacing between the negative wire electrodes of a first electrostatic precipitation unit is a first distance apart, and spacing between the negative wire electrodes of additional electrostatic precipitation units is at least less than the spacing between the negative wire electrodes of the first electrostatic precipitation unit. Moreover, a variable voltage is applied to the each of the electrostatic precipitation units between the positive electrode plates and the negative wire electrodes so as to cause particles in the exhaust gas to adhere to the positive electrode plates.
