    摘要: A display has a display panel of a first aspect ratio and is able to display on the display panel an image of a second aspect ratio whose width element is larger than that of the first aspect ratio. The display has a gate driver, a data driver, and a timing controller. The gate driver sequentially selects gate lines of the display panel. The data driver stores data for one gate line and supplies the data to one of the gate lines selected by the gate driver. The timing controller supplies control signals to the gate and data drivers so that predetermined data is displayed in top and bottom non-image areas of the display panel during a vertical blanking period. The display is capable of displaying images of different sizes.

    摘要: A flexible printed circuit having wiring patterns printed on a flexible resin film, comprising a narrow flexible area having first wiring patterns and constituting a flexible wiring part and a broad connection area adapted to be adhered to a main board and having second wiring patterns connected to the first wiring patterns and adapted to be electrically connected to wiring patterns on the main board. The second wiring patterns serve to electrically connect the first wiring patterns of the flexible wiring part to the wiring patterns on the main board. Also included is a conductive adhesion surface formed on the broad connection area along a side of the main board, having a width larger than a width of the first wiring patterns, and extending from an inside of a region to an outside thereof. The region is defined in the broad connection area by extending a boundary of the flexible area into the broad connection area. A flexible printed circuit can be provided which has a high peel-off resistance to an applied stress.

    摘要: The present gamma correction circuit is provided with a memory for supplying correction data for the gamma correction of the luminance of a display means, and a selector for selecting either from N-bit uncorrected digital display data and corrected data for outputting as driving data for the display means. A liquid crystal driver is provided with gamma correction means for gamma-correcting the luminance of a liquid crystal panel inputting the N-bit digital display data for liquid crystal displaying and means for converting the N-bit digital display data into analog data, the gamma correction means comprises a gamma correction circuit of the invention. A liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel inputting the N-bit digital display data for liquid crystal displaying, and gamma correction means or a liquid crystal driver for gamma-correcting the luminance of the liquid crystal display panel.     摘要: A method of forming a laminated glass substrate structure suitable for use in a display device or the like, includes the steps of: a) preparing a first glass substrate having first and second main faces; b) preparing a second glass substrate having third and fourth main faces; c) after the steps a) and b), adhering the first and second glass substrates with a space formed therebetween and with the third main face facing to the second main face; and d) after the step c), performing a smoothing process relative to all edges excepting one edge among edges defining the first main face. The laminated glass substrate structure provides an improved load resistance.
