    摘要: An oil pump includes an oil supply pump and an oil recovery pump disposed on an extension line of a crankshaft of an engine. One joint member is provided at an end portion of the crankshaft, and another joint member is provided at an end portion of a pump shaft. The two joint members are coupled to each other on the same axial line within a front cover of an engine. The two joint members have alternating concave portions and convex portions. The convex portions of the two joint members include inclined faces and opposing driving transmission faces. The inclined faces of the convex portions guide the convex portions into the concave portion of the opposing joint member, so that the two joint members are meshed with one another. The crankshaft side joint member is fastened together with an ACG rotor. An oil tank connected to the oil pump is disposed above and very close to the oil pump.

    摘要: To provide an inner shim that is unlikely to fall off from a spring retainer even when an anomalous operation of a valve occurs. A spring retainer fixed to the upper end portion of a valve shaft has a shim-attachment hole. An inner shim is fitted into the shim-attachment hole. The bottom face of the inner shim is in contact with the upper end portion of the valve shaft, and the top face of the inner shim is positioned below the upper edge of the shim-attachment hole. A tappet is disposed above the spring retainer, and is allowed to move freely in the axial direction of the valve shaft. A shim-holding projection sticks out from the under face of the tappet, and extends downward. The projection enters, from above, the inside of the shim-attachment hole, and is in contact with the top face of the inner shim.

In addition, the inter-cooler is disposed rearwardly of the engine, with the distribution passage being disposed forwardly of and on the left side of the inter-cooler so as to extend in the forward and rearward direction. The inter-cooler is connected to the rear end of the distribution passage with an intake pipe contiguous to cylinders being bent rearwardly along a side surface of the engine body.

A dry sump oil tank, a water pump and a starter motor are disposed in a concentrated space at a forward-facing portion of an internal combustion engine, which is mounted on a snowmobile at a position close to the front side of a body of the snowmobile. A steering shaft is arranged close to the front portion of the internal combustion engine, and is accommodated by modifying the shape of closely adjacent parts. Accordingly, the limited available space in a snowmobile is effectively used, and a rider riding in back of the engine can easily and closely approach the engine. The limited space inside the snowmobile cover is used effectively, by efficiently arranging selected accessory devices for an internal combustion engine mounted on the snowmobile.
