摘要: A structure of a cylinder assembly of an internal combustion engine has a coolant circulating system for cooling the cylinder assembly while the engine is driving. The cylinder assembly generally comprises a cylinder block formed therein a plurality of engine cylinder in line, and a cylinder head sealingly mounted on the cylinder block. The coolant circulating system comprises a coolant chamber formed within the cylinder block so that it surrounds substantial part of each engine cylinder, a return passage formed in the cylinder head. The coolant chamber communicates with the return passage through a plurality of vertical passages. Adjacent the top of the vertical passage, there is provided with a projecting portion inwardly projecting thereto. A sloped passage is formed within a partition disposed between each of adjacent engine cylinder. The upper end of the sloped passage is opened at the projecting portion at right angle to the planar surface of the projecting portion. By forming the projecting portion within the vertical passage and forming the sloped passage extending therefrom at right angle, it makes easy to form the sloped passage within the partition. Further, by forming the sloped passage as the manner mentioned above, the cylinder assembly is easily prevented from leakage of coolant and/or air/fuel mixture discharged to the engine cylinder.

摘要: A cooling structure for a multi-cylinder piston-engine cylinder block includes a side coolant gallery distributing coolant into a water jacket surrounding a group of cylinders arranged from upstream to downstream. The flow cross-section of the coolant gallery decreases toward its downstream end. The water jacket has a water jacket wall which constitutes part of the coolant gallery. The water jacket wall includes a group of coolant inlets, each of which directs coolant towards the upper part of each of the cylinders. At least one coolant inlet is offset from the center of the corresponding cylinder toward a clearance between adjoining cylinders. This cooling structure can cool all of the cylinders uniformly and the entire surface of each cylinder evenly.

摘要: The foam slush molding apparatus of this invention comprises a mold and a hot air jacket, and an optional heat retaining hood. The hot air jacket and the optional heat retaining hood are provided along and a certain distance apart from the molding surface on which a resin is heated and fused. The molding surface and the jacket form a first hot air chamber for heating, and the jacket and the optional heat retaining hood form an optional second hot air chamber for heat retention. The apparatus permits uniform heating and foaming at an efficient molding cycle.

摘要: A novel styrene copolymer having a functional group, i.e. silyl group on the para-position of the aromatic ring, useful as a functional polymer, is provided. An effective process for the production thereof comprises contacting a random or block copolymer of p-methylstyrene and .alpha.-methylstyrene with an organolithium compound to lithiate partly the p-methyl group in the copolymer and then reacting the lithiated copolymer with a silicon compound represented by the general formula (R.sup.1)(R.sup.2)(R.sup.3)SiX wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are, same or different, alkyl groups with 1 to 6 carbon atoms or alkenyl groups with 2 to 6 carbon atoms, at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 being an alkenyl group, and X is a halogen atom.

摘要: The present invention provides a water-base ink absorbing material which can quickly absorb a water-base ink and has an excellent fixativity of the drying water-base ink and on which print with a good definition can be achieved without inducing inconsistencies in color density and bleeding of ink.The ink absorbing material is prepared so as to satisfy the following requirements 1 through 3:1 the contact angle measured at ordinary temperature by the liquid drop method using water is 50 degrees or less;2 the wetting index measured in compliance with "Testing method of wettability of polyethylene and polypropylene films" defined by JIS-K-6768 is 40 dyn/cm or more; and3 the water vapor permeability P is 800-20000 g/m.sup.2 /24 h/0.1 mm, wherein P is obtained by converting the water vapor permeability P', measured in compliance with "Testing method for determination of the water vapor permeability of water vaporproof packaging materials (dish method)" defined by JIS-Z-0208 and in its temperature and moisture condition B, into the water vapor permeability at a thickness of 0.1 mm based on the following equationP=d.times.P'/0.1wherein d is a thickness (mm) of a specimen used for measurement of the water vapor permeability P'.
