    摘要: To prevent the peeling-off of a drive circuit chip from an insulation substrate of a display device attributed to a residual stress between terminals formed on the insulation substrate and bumps formed on a mounting surface of a drive circuit chip, as well as to stabilize the connection resistance therebetween, the present invention provides an auxiliary bump for one of the bumps on the mounting surface of the drive circuit chip at an end edge side thereof with respect to the one of the bumps and arranges the auxiliary bump electrically in contact with one of the terminals formed on the insulation substrate of the display device with which the one of the bumps also is in electrical contact. Since the one of the bumps is spaced from the end edge side of the mounting surface of the drive circuit chip by the auxiliary bump, electrical contact thereof with the one of the terminals cannot be affected by the atmospheres in which the display device is used, and distortion of a signal waveform caused thereat can be suppressed also.

In a display device which includes a display panel which forms a plurality of lines as first lines on a terminal portion thereof, and a film-like substrate which forms a plurality of lines as second lines thereon, the display panel has a determination terminal which is arranged close to the terminal portion, has a width larger than a width of the terminal, and has a portion thereof removed, the film-like substrate forms third lines and fourth lines arranged close to the second lines thereon, the third lines face the determination terminal, and the fourth lines face the removed portion of the determination terminal from which the portion is removed.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display is provided with respective signal lines and a semiconductor chip. Respective output bumps of the semiconductor chip are connected to corresponding respective signal lines through ax anisotropic conductive layer. The respective output bumps include a first group of output bumps which are arranged at a side close to the signal lines and a second group of output bumps which are arranged at a side remote from the signal lines. The area of respective bumps of the second group of output bumps which face the signal lines in an opposed manner is set larger than the area of respective bumps of the first group of output bumps which face the signal lines in an opposed manner. Due to such a constitution, a reliable connection between the mounted semiconductor integrated circuit and the signal lines is ensured.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can establish the reliable connection between a printed circuit board and a semiconductor device in spite of the simple constitution thereof. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel, a printed circuit board arranged close to the liquid crystal display panel, and a semiconductor device arranged between the liquid crystal display panel and the printed circuit board in a striding manner. The semiconductor device includes a flexible printed circuit board and a semiconductor chip. The flexible printed circuit board includes a plurality of first terminals connected to the printed circuit board and a plurality of second terminals connected to a liquid-crystal-display-panel side. The printed circuit board includes a solder resist film, an opening portion formed in the solder resist film, and a terminal portion arranged in the opening portion and consisting of a plurality of terminals connected to the first terminals of the flexible printed circuit board. The terminal portion of the printed circuit board and the first terminals of the semiconductor device are connected with each other by way of an anisotropic conductive film. The anisotropic conductive film overlaps with at least the respective terminals of the terminal portion of the printed circuit board and the solder resist film.
