摘要： An electrically conductive flow-field plate in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell comprises a composition made of a resin and a plurality of carbon nanotubular fibers having an average diameter is at least about 0.5 nm and up to about 300 nm. The carbon nanotubular fibers are present at not more than about 85 wt. %. The resin can be of a thermoplastic type, a fluorinated type, a thermosetting type and a liquid crystalline type.

In one preferred embodiment, the overcoating is amorphous graphite applied through a deposition process. In another preferred embodiment, overcoating is a thin layer of oxide created by chemical anodization process.

摘要： A corrosion resistant coated fuel cell plate and method of making the same are embodied in a metal plate provided with a graphite emulsion coating and then a layer of graphite foil which is pressed over the coating. The graphite emulsion bonds the graphite foil to the metal plate and seals fine scale porosities in the graphite foil. Flow fields are formed by stamping the coated fuel cell plate.

摘要： Transparent conductors and methods for fabricating transparent conductors are provided. A method for fabricating a transparent conductor comprises providing a stretchable transparent substrate. A dispersion comprising a plurality of conductive elements and a solvent is formed. The dispersion is applied overlying the stretchable transparent substrate. The solvent is at least partially evaporated to form a transparent conductive coating on the stretchable transparent substrate and the substrate and the transparent conductive coating are stretched.

摘要： A composite face seal having an annular seal rotor with a metal base portion and a radially extending flange. The flange having first and second axially facing surfaces. A first ceramic ring is mounted to the first surface of the flange by a first braze joint and a second ceramic ring is mounted to the second surface of the flange by a second braze joint. The composite face seal assembly further includes an annular stator having an axially facing surface that sealingly engages an axially facing surface of one of the ceramic rings. Each of the braze joints may comprise a molybdenum ring disposed between two braze rings or, for thicker seal assemblies, molybdenum and nickel rings disposed between braze rings.

In one exemplary embodiment, a method for fabricating a transparent conductor comprises forming a dispersion comprising a plurality of conductive components and a solvent, applying the dispersion to a substrate in an environment having a predetermined atmospheric humidity that is based on a selected surface resistivity of the transparent conductor, and causing the solvent to at least partially evaporate such that the plurality of conductive components remains overlying the substrate.

摘要： Sintered silicon nitride products comprising predominantly β-silicon nitride grains in combination with from about 0.1 to 30 mole % silicon carbide, and grain boundary secondary phases of scandium oxide and scandium disilicate. Such products have high fracture toughness, resistance to recession, and resistance to oxidation at temperatures of at least 1500° C. Methods for preparing sintered silicon nitride products are also disclosed.
