    摘要: The invention relates to the generation of mouse models of drug metabolism in which clusters of genes that are involved in drug metabolism have been knocked out. The development of new drugs and chemicals for therapeutic use or for other purposes is extremely complex. Of particular importance is the understanding of how these chemical agents are handled in the body, whether they have appropriate pharmacokinetics and whether, as a consequence of metabolism, any safety issues arise. Many of the proteins that are involved in the metabolism, disposition and elimination of drugs are members of multigene families that exhibit very marked species differences in gene number, function and regulation. For these reasons, experiments carried out in laboratory animals to establish routes of metabolism or toxicity can be severely compromised and, as a consequence, do not faithfully represent the human situation. One example of this complexity is reflected in the mammalian cytochrome P450 system, where the sizes of multigene families of proteins which carry out particular metabolic functions vary enormously between species.

    摘要: The present invention relates to transgenic non-human animals, tissues or cells derived therefrom and methods of producing them. The transgenic non-human animals or tissues or cells derived therefrom provide a system capable of expressing human proteins responsible for drug metabolism in place of the homologous endogenous non-human animal proteins and for the controlled expression of human genes introduced into the animal so that the expression of the human genes is regulated in a manner more closely analogous to that seen in vivo in humans. One aspect of the invention relates to the use of a human DNA sequence comprising at least part of introns 6 and/or 7 of the human PXR gene.

Then, an amount of charge drawn during a discharging operation is subtracted from this estimated amount of charge to derive an estimate for the state of charge of the battery at a present time. A parameter representing the state of health of the battery may be provided as an input to the neural network, and the parameter representing the state of health of the battery may be generated by a second neural network.

    摘要: Disclosed is a computer-implemented method of presenting data which has been automatically extracted from a digital representation of a document to a curator for review, the extracted data comprising annotation entity data concerning one or more instances of entities which have been identified in the digital representation of a document, the annotation entity data comprising data specifying the location of the identified instances of entities within the digital representation of a document, the method comprising the steps of (i) displaying in a first region of a display screen a user selectable portion of the digital representation of a document with said instances of entities which are specified by the annotation entity data as being located within the displayed portion of the digital representation of a document highlighted at the location specified by the annotation entity data; (ii) displaying in a second region of the display screen a list of a plurality of instances of entities which have been identified in the digital representation of a document, at least one of the listed instances of an entity having a user selectable user interface element associated therewith; and (iii) responsive to a user selecting the user selectable user interface element associated with an instance of an entity, adjusting the portion of the digital representation of a document which is displayed in the first region to include the location within the digital representation of a document where the instance of an entity associated with the selected user interface element is located.
