The combined device may also include a temperature control unit that senses water temperature in a water tank assembly and may activate a water heater.

摘要: A valve for use in a system having a source of fluid, two pumps and means responsive to a change in the flow condition of the fluid caused by a lack of proper performance of one of the pumps to effect a utilization of the fluid pumped by the other pump. The valve includes a body having a pair of inlet ports and an outlet port spaced from the inlet ports. One of the pumps is connected to a first inlet port with the other pump being connected to a second inlet port. A passageway is provided in the valve body and extends between and is in fluid communication with the pair of inlet ports and the outlet port. A first normally closed valve is provided in the valve body for controlling the main flow of fluid from one of the pumps and is openable in response to a predetermined pressure differential in the fluid at the first inlet port and the outlet port. The first normally closed valve is closed, in addition to the normal closing thereof, in response to a fluid flow from the other pump. A second normally closed valve is provided in the valve body for controlling the return flow of the fluid from the other pump to a reservoir therefor. The second valve is openable in response to a predetermined pressure differential in the fluid at the first inlet port and the outlet port to effect a return of fluid to the reservoir. The second valve is closed, in addition to the normal closing thereof, in response to a drop in the predetermined pressure differential in the fluid to effect both a blocking of the return flow of the fluid to the reservoir and initiating a flow of fluid from the other pump to the outlet port.

The flow-through heating assembly may extend into the water tank and heats water as water is passed through an interior channel of the flow-through heating assembly. In one embodiment, the flow through heater assembly is a thermosiphonic heater having a hollow body and a heating element extending therein such that an annular recess is defined between an interior surface of the hollow body and the external surface of the heating element.

摘要: A water heater includes a water tank and a flow-through heating element. The water tank contains heated water. The flow-through heating element is located in the lower portion of the water tank and heats water as water is passed through an interior channel of the heating element. In another configuration, the water heater further includes a recirculation line and the heating element further includes an input end external of the water tank to receive water to be heated and an output end to output heated water into the water tank. The recirculation line transports water from the water tank to the input end of the heating element that is external of the water tank.

摘要: A steering valve includes a housing and a spool disposed inside the housing. The housing includes a top plane and a bottom plane, the top plane including an opening of a first port and the bottom plane including an opening of a second port. The spool includes a top plane including a first and second opening corresponding to a third port and a fourth port, one of which is configured to align with the opening of the first port depending on the orientation of the housing. The spool also includes a bottom plane including a first and second opening corresponding to the third port and fourth port, one of which is configured to align with the opening of the second port depending on the orientation of the housing. The housing is configured to rotate around the spool and wherein the orientation of the housing determines whether the first port is fluidly coupled to the third port via the first opening in the top plane of the spool while the second port is fluidly coupled to the fourth port via the first opening on the bottom plane of the spool or whether the second port is fluidly coupled to the third port via the second opening in the top plane of the spool while the first port is fluidly coupled to the fourth port via the second opening on the bottom plane of the spool.

摘要: A method for making a slip ring assembly contemplates welding to one face of each of a plurality of varying diameter concentric conducting rings a plurality of electrically conducting studs, positioning a plurality of the rings within grooves inscribed in a first mold section in an accurately spaced concentric arrangement with respect to each other, surrounding the rings radially interiorly thereof with one or more pre-cut insulating plies, placing insulating material in the spaces between the concentrically spaced rings and radially outwardly thereof, positioning a plurality of pre-cut insulating plies axially of the rings and insulating material aligned to permit passage of the studs through pre-cut holes in the plies, closing a second mold section on the first mold section, and heating the assembly under pressure in the mold sections until the assembly is cured.The manufactured slip ring assembly (10) has a plurality of concentric spaced conducting rings (16, 17, 18), one face (19, 20, 21) of each of the rings being exposed for engagement by brushes with the other face having a plurality of electrically conducting projecting studs (31) attached thereto, an insulating material (25) isolates each of the rings and encompasses a portion of the studs, and a recess (33) on the studs within said insulating material to provide a mechanical interlock of the studs relative to the insulating material and the rings.

摘要: A water heater and thermostatic control device for a lavatory faucet includes a hot water tank having a reservoir and a heating element disposed within the reservoir, the heating element heats ambient temperature water received by the reservoir to produce hot water, a thermal mixing valve configured to mix hot water received from the hot water tank with ambient temperature water to produce mixed temperature water. The water heater and thermostatic control device also includes a shut off valve configured to permit flow of mixed temperature water to the lavatory faucet, wherein the shut off valve includes a diaphragm and an armature assembly, and wherein the diaphragm is configured to permit air to bleed or vent through the shut off valve when the mixed temperature water is not imparting pressure on the diaphragm.
