Abstract: A liquid insect bait system comprises an insect bait container including a housing defining an internal cavity holding a quantity of liquid bait, and an insect trap having an external housing. The housing of the insect trap includes an internal bait reservoir sized to hold bait received from the bait container, and an insect opening formed through the housing and in communication with the bait reservoir. A bait container opening is formed in housing and is sized to receive a portion of a bait holding container in an insertion direction. A portion of the bait container opening is in communication with the bait reservoir.

Abstract: A pest control device comprising a capacitive sensor array including a plurality of sensor pads, the capacitive sensor array being configured to generate an electrical output signal indicating the state of each sensor pad, and an electronic controller electrically connected to the capacitive sensor array, the electronic controller including a processor and a memory including a plurality of instructions, which, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to: receive the electrical output signals from the capacitive sensor array, determine a measured capacitance value for each sensor pad based on each electrical output signal, calculate a baseline for each sensor pad based on the measured capacitance value of the sensor pad, determine whether a difference between the measured capacitance value of at least one sensor pad and its corresponding baseline exceeds a first predetermined threshold, update a counter when the first predetermined threshold is exceeded, and record an event indicative of a presence of a pest when the counter exceeds a predetermined limit.

Abstract: Present invention is a device and a method for collecting targeted insects or targeted insect communities on plants. It can be used to non-destructively collect insect communities from a single plant. Alternatively, it can be used to collect a targeted insect from a plant. Present invention consists of the following elements: a first hose; an extended air nozzle; a thumb lever push valve; a brass barb; a second hose; a knapsack; a pneumatic mini timer; a carbon dioxide flow regulator; a carbon dioxide tank; a bag; a drawstring; and a glass vial. The present invention can be used as follows: consulting a chart; setting carbon dioxide flow regulator; setting pneumatic mini timer; deploying a bag over a plant; cinching said bag; depressing thumb lever; shaking bag to relocate targeted insects from bag into the glass vial; detaching glass vial; and capping glass vial.

Abstract: In some embodiments, methods and systems of defending a crop-containing area against crop-damaging pests include an unmanned aerial vehicle including a sensor that detects one or more pests in the crop-containing area and an output device configured to eliminate the pest from the crop-containing area. One or more docking stations configured to accommodate the UAV are provided. A computing device configured to communicate with the UAV and the docking station over a network is provided. The UAV is configured to send pest detection data captured by a sensor of the UAV while patrolling the crop-containing area. In return, the computing device is configured to send a signal to the UAV to indicate instructions to the UAV as to how to move or activate the output device in order to eliminate the detected pest from the crop-containing area.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a clasp hanger for hanging. The clasp hanger includes a hanger hook comprised of an elongated part. The hanger hook has a hanger hook section and a neck section opposite the hook section. The neck section is expandable to allow the clasp hanger to be quickly hung on a support object such as a branch. The clasp hanger further includes an object attachment device attached to the neck section of the hanger hook. This object attachment device is configured for attaching an object to be hung. The object may be, for example, configured to dispense a chemical or formulation useful in agricultural pest management. The hanger hook, and object attachment device are disposed such that, after the support object is pushed through the neck, the hanger hook will automatically rotate such that the support object is disposed at an interior part of the hanger hook that is away from the neck section. This prevents the support object from passing back through the neck section.

Abstract: An insect trap which includes an enclosure with a removable cover member having at least one opening therethrough and contained within the enclosure is an insect attractant, a take-up roller, a supply roller, each journaled for rotation about parallel, spaced-apart axes, and where a flexible web is wound on the supply roller and transferrable onto the take-up roller. The web has an adhesive on one major surface. Also contained within the enclosure is an electric motor connected in driving relation to the take-up roller and a timer circuit for controlling the ON/OFF state of the electric motor. The timer circuit is designed such that when switched to the “on” state, remains on only long enough to transfer a quantity of the web in a range of plus or minus 10% of the predetermined length dimension between the two rollers before assuming the “off” state.

Abstract: An insect trap that is attached or molded onto a garbage receptacle and that relies on the garbage inside the garbage receptacle to attract or lure insects into a trap compartment designed to effectively entrap said insects permanently. Once the trap compartment is ready to be discarded, a release mechanism driven by an actuator is used to press the trap compartment against a release plate until the trap compartment is released or dislodged into the garbage receptacle. Thus, the user of the insect trap does not have to physically touch the trap compartment that is full of trapped insects. Instead, through the use of the actuator, the trap compartment is released directly into the garbage compartment.
