摘要： A blade exchange device may be used to remove or install a blade on a medical or surgical instrument such as a dermatome. The blade exchange device generally includes a base portion and a blade engaging portion that engages the blade being removed or installed. The blade exchange device may be used in a system that also includes a magnetic tool for coupling and moving the blades that are removed or installed. The blade exchange device, system and method may be used, for example, with commercially available dermatome instruments such as the type known as the Goulian-Weck knife.

摘要： A handling system for use in the manufacture of syringe barrels includes a tray having an array of apertures with a tubular upstand around each aperture, each upstand at the upper end thereof defining a support surface for a syringe barrel. Each syringe barrel comprises a cylindrical part and an enlargement at or adjacent the rear end of the barrel and carries at its forward end a safe needle device or a needle shield of a greater diameter than the syringe barrel. At least one of the enlargement of the syringe barrel or the support surface has a profile tapering or rounded inwardly in the downward direction so that when the tray is supported generally horizontally and a syringe barrel is lowered into an upstand, the syringe barrel is centred by co-operation between the enlargement and the support surface. The enlargement may be a flange at the rear end of the syringe barrel or could be a further component fitted to the barrel.

摘要： A passing tray for surgical instruments includes a holder having a base portion, opposing side portions open at a first end and an end portion. A sliding member having front and rear edges is slidably supported within the holder. At least one support member projects upwardly from a surface of the sliding member toward its front edge, and an actuator projects upwardly from the surface of the sliding member intermediate the front and rear edges thereof and has front and rear surfaces facing toward the front and rear edges of the sliding member, respectively. In use an elongated surgical instrument may be retained transversely between opposing surfaces of the support member and the open first end of the holder under force of the actuator.

The holder, which may be constructed to be of one piece, is configured to be easily removed from the device to facilitate cleaning of the holder and/or to facilitate packing of the stimulator unit (or other device) for shipping purposes, e.g., in case of device repairs, etc. In other embodiments, the holder may associate a tray or box for storing a variety of items with a host device on which the holder is mounted.
