摘要: An adherent article, such as a bandage or adhesive tape, having a nonwoven substrate that contains water soluble fibers is provided. The water soluble fibers of the nonwoven substrate can include polyvinyl alcohol fibers that only dissolve at temperatures greater than 37° C. and/or polyvinyl alcohol fibers that can dissolve at temperatures less than about 37° C. The adherent article also includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to the nonwoven substrate that facilitates adherence of the substrate to human skin. The pressure-sensitive adhesive can be water soluble or generally insoluble, but dispersible in water.

摘要: A bandage includes a wound treating section for collecting exudate from a wound, a hydrophobic layer attached to the wound treating section, and a liquid soluble adhesive positioned on the hydrophobic layer for removably adhering the bandage to a body part proximate the wound. The adhesive is dissolved upon contact with a liquid so that the bandage separates from the body part without painful sticking to the body part. The wound treating section can include a hydrocolloid or gauze pad.

摘要: The present invention provides devices and methods for treating wounds. The devices may include polymer particles capable of absorbing fluid such as blood. When devices of the invention are exposed to fluid, the fluid may enter the device and cause the polymer particles to swell. Devices of the invention may also apply pressure on wound cavities to stop or restrict the flow of fluid. In some embodiments, the devices may comprise components to facilitate absorption of fluid throughout the device, such as wicking elements and/or multiple compartments. One or more of the devices can be placed directly in the wound cavity, or in a containment structure and then into the wound cavity.
