    摘要: A method and/or system are provided for improving kidney function and/or increasing Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) of the renal system, by applying acoustic and/or ultrasonic energy to one or more of the kidneys. The method suggests either focused or non-focused (or combined) energy delivery, optionally in a noninvasive approach, which could also be implemented invasively and/or by implantable device.
    Potential applications of this technique, include, but are not restricted to, treatment of renal disorders such as CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) and/or AKI (Acute Kidney Injury), short term or long term intervention in kidney function for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes, modifying urine output in heart failure, modulating blood volume and/or pressure, and modulating clearance of compounds in the blood are typically difficult to extract from the kidneys, such as iodine, other imaging contrast media, and similar compounds.

    摘要: A device for generating ultra-wideband bursts of ultrasound in body tissue, comprising:

    a) ultrasound generating elements that together generate the bursts in the body tissue; and
    b) a signal generating module that generates signals used by each of the ultrasound generating elements to generate bursts having a specified intensity and spectrum at a specified target location;
    wherein the device is capable of generating a train of bursts at least a distance 1 cm inside a tank of water, having a specified intensity and a specified spectrum as a function of frequency, at least over a range of frequency covering a factor of 3 in frequency, wherein an effective spectrum which is the specified spectrum adjusted for a response of resonators having a Q of 5, has 50% of its power in that range spread out over a highest power portion of the range covering at least 32% of the range.

    摘要: A method of treating a patient having cancer cells has the step of directing sound energy from one or more acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse treatments into the patient targeting the cancer cells in at least one tumor or in the blood to cause the patient’s immune system to identify the cancer cells as foreign objects and trigger a natural healing mechanism of the patient’s immune system to destroy the foreign objects. Wherein targeting the at least one tumor initiates cellular communication resulting in an unmasking of all cancer cells in the patient’s body by destroying a cloaking capability of the cancer cells which made the cancer cells indistinguishable from normal cells allowing the cancer cells to hide from the immune system prior to the one or more acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse treatments.

    摘要: A method for HIFU treatment of localized prostate cancer in a patient includes identifying the cancer locations in a patient's prostate; visually segmenting the patient's prostate into areas for analysis and treatment, where the section including the area of most aggressive cancer is determined to be the primary area. The primary area is subjected to a first full HIFU treatment for a period intended to ablate the cancerous tumor. HIFU treatment is then stopped on the primary area and the primary area is allowed to rest while simultaneously subjecting the next contiguous area of the patient's prostate to a first HIFU treatment to ablate any additional areas of suspected cancer in the next contiguous area. HIFU treatment is then stopped in the contiguous area. The primary area is then subjected to a second full HIFU treatment for a period sufficient to ensure the complete ablation of the cancerous tumor. The method further includes repeating alternating full HIFU treatment processes on subsequent contiguous areas of the patient's prostate to ensure the complete ablation of any cancerous tumors in the patient's prostate. The entire process is completed under one treatment of anesthesia.
