    摘要: The present invention is directed toward a bioremediation product, its method of manufacture and method of use. A blend of microorganisms, cleansers and surfactants is disclosed which is non-toxic and solvent free, and which has the ability to accelerate the breaking down process of oils, materials such as benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTEX); petroleum hydrocarbon fractions F1-F4 (as defined by CCME2000), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), paraffin waxes, volatile organics, molds, and the like; while simultaneously providing a biological component which is effective to reduce the total petroleum hydrocarbon levels to zero at an accelerated rate. The product is useful for bioremediation and as an oil dispersant composition useful in treating oil spills, and for cleanup of the shoreline, animals, plants, and equipment.

    摘要: The present invention relates to the area of environmental biotechnology. It describes environment object cleaning from oil pollutants (OPs), when they are treated with oil hydrocarbon emulsifying and oxidizing bacterial preparations and plants suitable for phytoremediation. This method is used for cleaning of soil, briny and fresh water. This invention presents a novel complex OP cleaning method, which fully or partially solves the present shortcomings with environment cleaning from OPs. Invention is different from other known oil pollutant cleaning methods, because OP cleaning is managed with a help from an expert system which comprises the evaluation of primary OP composition and environment parameters, selection of OP cleaning method and OP biodegrading microorganism blends, selection of optimal concentrations for these blends, selection of optimal OP separation and biodegradation parameters and selection of the most suitable plants for phytoremediation.

    摘要: Embodiments of techniques for remediating soil contaminated with compounds, particularly nitro-based explosives, are disclosed. Plants capable of taking up the compounds are grown within contaminated soil for a period of time. The plants are exposed to anaerobic microbes in the rumen of a ruminant animal. The ruminal anaerobic microbes degrade the remediable compounds and render them substantially nontoxic to the animal. In some embodiments, the remediable compounds are nitroaromatic compounds, and are degraded by nitroreductases. In other embodiments, microbes are transferred from a consortium enriched in microbes capable of degrading the remediable compounds to a ruminant animal that lacks microbes capable of degrading the remediable compounds. In other embodiments, methods for isolating and identifying ruminal anaerobic microbes capable of degrading remediable compounds are disclosed.

    摘要: A soil cleaning method (phytoremediation) of absorbing a contaminating substance contained in a contaminated soil by a plant to clean the soil. An object of the present invention is to provide a method of cleaning a contaminated soil which performs cleaning of a soil containing heavy metals in a shorter term than before and, at the same time, utilizes phytoremediation having little influence on the environment. The object is attained by absorbing heavy metals by a plant of Polygonaceae family, Fagopyrum genus, and, at the same time, adding a biodegradable chelating agent to a contaminated soil in order to assist the absorption. And, a biodegradable chelating agent having the high heavy metal dissolving out ability not only enhances the cleaning efficacy but also reduces secondary influence on the environment.

    摘要: A method of growth of selected microorganism cultures by selectively baiting paraffinophilic microorganisms for concentrated growth is provided. The method includes providing a receptacle containing an aqueous solution and adjusting the solution to mimic the environmental conditions conducive to enhancing growth of the target microorganisms. The method then further includes inoculating the solution with a sample taken from an aqueous or terrestrial environmental site, or by seeding the aqueous solution with the paraffinophilic microorganism, chosen for its affinity for degrading organic waste or producing certain by-products and then placing in the receptacle one or more paraffin coated substrates to bait the paraffinophilic microorganism. An associated apparatus is also disclosed.
