    摘要: The invention relates to a heat carrier comprising at least one collector pipe (1) for receiving the ends of flat pipes (10a), especially for a CO2 air conditioning unit for motor vehicles. The collector pipe (1) is formed by an open hollow profiled section (7) with edges (8, 9) forming a continuous longitudinal slit extending in a longitudinal direction and the ends of the flat pipes (10a), which are twisted at an angle of 90°, are received in a fluidically tight manner in the longitudinal slot. According to the invention, the edges (8,9) partially abut, forming a separating joint (4) and are partially rolled back, forming receiving openings for the ends of the flat pipes (10a). The receiving openings are produced by plastic deformation.

    摘要: An automatic tube tee forming and trimming system uses a single apparatus for milling a hole in a tube, pulling a forming die through the milled hole, and face trimming the resulting pullout joint to the desired height. The forming die is pulled out through the hole via a universal driver which is simply attached to the drawbar without requiring any twisting to lock the assembly. The system may automatically conduct each of the steps once the tube is loaded into the apparatus. The apparatus completes the tube tee forming and trimming process in a relatively small cell, without the need to travel out to another factory area, within a relatively short period of time, and with minimal use of manual labor.

    摘要: A tubular part having a tubular main body and an integral tubular protrusion projecting laterally from the side of the main body and in fluid-tight communication therewith is superplastically formed by inserting the tube in a cavity of a die base and heating the die to a temperature at which the material of which the tube is made exhibits superplastic properties. The distal end of a pull-rod is extended through an opening in the die base and through a hole in the side wall aligned with the opening. A pull-die is selected having a cross section larger than the hole and about equal to the desired internal cross section of the tubular protrusion. The pull die is attached to the distal end of the rod and (before or after attachment) is heated to about the superplastic temperature of the tubing material. Linear actuators are operated to pull the rod and attached pull die through the hole at a predetermined rate which produces about an optimal superplastic strain rate for the material, thereby superplastically stretching marginal portions of the tubular body around the hole and forming the tubing material in marginal regions around the hole against surfaces defining the opening in the die base into the tubular protrusion integrally joined to the tube around an integral junction region.

    摘要: An improved method of making a cross joint between different size pipes is provided. A punch, die and a pressing machine are prepared. The punch includes a center rest for receiving a small pipe, a curved slot and a curved surface for transforming an end of the small pipe. Under the actuation of the pressing machine, the end of the small pipe is transformed into an arcuate configuration which is identical with the inside curvature of a large pipe. Simultaneously, a curved bead is formed on the small pipe remaining circumferentially equal distances from the resultant arcuate edge of the small pipe. This distance is substantially the same as the wall thickness of the large pipe. Utilizing the arcuate edge and the curved bead, the small pipe and the large pipe are welded or brazed together, resulting in a cross joint having no protrusion into the large pipe space.

A supporting ring die is radiused at its inner corner to form a suitable fillet radius at the junction of the neck with the flange proper. A suitable preforming or post-forming operation may be required to compensate for any deflection in the workpiece out of planar configuration.
