    Abstract: A linerbolt removal tool, including: a housing; a moil supported for reciprocating movement by the housing; an inertial body located within the housing; a gas charged accumulator extending from the inertial body away from the moil; a piston moveable within the inertial body between a striking position at which the piston strikes the moil and a retracted position, whereby firing the piston from its retracted position to its striking position includes causing pressurised gas within the accumulator to accelerate the piston toward the moil, wherein the piston has a striking end for striking the moil and an opposing rear end; and a piston cap that encloses the rear end of the piston, wherein during firing, the piston and the piston cap initially accelerate together and prior to the piston reaching its striking position the piston cap separates from the piston, whereby the piston cap isolates the piston from the accumulator.

    Abstract: A vibration reducing structure of pneumatic impact tool includes an outer shell, an inner tube member, a supporting ring and a gas sealing ring. An outer diameter of the inner tube member is slightly less than an inner diameter of the outer shell. The inner tube member is accommodated in the outer shell. A hammer member capable of being driven by high pressure gas to move is disposed in the inner tube member. A gas room is formed between the inner tube member and the outer shell. Both the supporting ring and the gas sealing ring surround the inner tube member. The supporting ring abuts against the outer shell so that a cylindrical gap communicated with the gas room is formed between the outer shell and the inner tube member. The gas sealing ring is closely engaged with the outer shell and the inner tube member to seal the cylindrical gap.

    Abstract: A hammer includes a jacket, which includes an inner chamber, an inlet circuit for entry of compressed air, and an outlet circuit for exit of compressed air. The hammer further includes a motion mechanism, for generating a vibratory motion under the action of compressed air; and a punch or beater, connected to the motion mechanism, for coming into contact with the casting to be de-cored, forming a first end of the hammer. The inlet circuit includes an inlet connector for connecting the hammer to a compressed-air circuit; the inlet connector being located at a second end of the hammer, opposite to the end where the punch or beater is located. The outlet circuit has an outlet connector for connecting the hammer to an air recovery circuit. The outlet connector is located at the second end of the hammer, in proximity to the inlet connector.

    Abstract: A processor-controlled, energy-based therapy apparatus includes a device configured to provide therapeutic energy to a patient and a processor that controls the output of the device. The output of the device is based on output profiles programmed into the processor. The output profiles include a therapeutic energy output profile and a ramp-up energy profile. The therapeutic energy output profile includes a desired target energy level and a therapeutic duration for controlling the output of the device during a therapeutic period. The ramp-up energy output profile includes an initial treatment energy level and a ramp-up duration for controlling the output of the device during a ramp-up period. The energy output specified by the ramp-up energy output profile incrementally increases over the ramp-up duration as a function of the desired target energy level and the ramp-up duration.

    Abstract: The optimized pneumatic hammer is characterized by maximum performance efficiency that is achieved due to author's analytical investigations which revealed the existence of the optimal value of the striker's length with respect to maximum kinetic energy of the tool. On the contrary to the existing hammers, in the optimized hammers the length of the strikers is shorter than their strokes. Calculations based on the mentioned investigation show that the kinetic energy of optimized hammers could be about 2.5 times higher than of their existing counterparts. The optimized pneumatic hammer has two modes of operation—the regular mode of operation during which the tool interacts with the target media and the retracting mode of operation for releasing the severely jammed tool from the media. Optimized pneumatic hammers allow for a considerable decrease of their weight and diameters without compromising their performance while making easier the work of the operators.

    Abstract: A pneumatic motor with built-in striker mechanism mainly includes a cylinder, rotor set and output shaft lever. The rotor set has a rotary drum and flexible blades. The output shaft lever can be driven by the rotary drum. A chamber is formed into the rotary drum and a striking portion on the output shaft lever is located within the chamber. The built-in striker mechanism is placed in the chamber and has striking bulges protruded on the striking portion, movable hammers sleeved externally on the striking bulge and struts axially located on the rotary drum. This new pneumatic motor has the striker mechanism set into the rotary drum of the rotor set, thus reducing greatly the axial length and volume of the pneumatic motor and realizing ease-of-use.

    Abstract: A hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric tool may include a spindle that is adapted for rotational movement. A swing arm may be coupled to the spindle such that the rotational motion of the spindle is transferred to the swing arm. The swing arm may make contact with an anvil such that the rotational motion of the swing arm causes the anvil to move along a linear path. A piston may be operatively coupled to the anvil to follow the linear movement of the anvil. The piston may be adapted to interact with an energy storage medium when the swing arm moves the anvil in the first direction, causing energy to be stored. As the swing arm continues to rotate, the swing arm may lose contact with the anvil, thus allowing the energy storage medium to urge the piston and the anvil in a second direction opposite the first direction.

    Abstract: One embodiment of a tool generally comprises a skeleton, barrel, valve box assembly, and a throttle assembly. A sleeve may also be included to cover a portion of the skeleton. The skeleton may include a main body with a handle member protruding therefrom, wherein a throttle void may be formed intermediate to the main body and handle member. The throttle assembly may be configured such that the actuation of the throttle is in a direction substantially perpendicular to the handle member, which allows periphery of the handle member to be less than it would in a parallel configuration. A sleeve fashioned of energy absorbing and/or vibration damping material may be positioned over a portion of the skeleton. A handle integrally formed with the sleeve may cover the handle member to increase the ergonomic features of the tool.
