    摘要: An extruder screw, includes a head portion having a front end and having formed therein a temperature-control bore and a counterbore extending the bore to the front end for supply and drainage of a fluid. A locking screw has a screw thread, with a first section of the screw thread received in the bore and a second section of the screw thread extending in the counterbore and projecting out of the head portion. The extruder screw further includes a screw tip which threadably engages the second section of the screw thread to close off the extruder screw, and a sealing member which is received in a counterbore of the head portion, wherein the locking screw is so configured as to apply a substantial force against the sealing member when engaging the locking screw into the bore, to thereby effectively seal the bore.

    摘要: The invention includes retrofitting a plasticating machine for the working and forcing of plastic material into a moldor die, the machine including an elongated housing having a first or proximal end and a second or distal end, and elongated screw shaft with a screw flight therearound. The screw shaft is rotatably supported in the elongated housing, for the working of plastic between the screw shaft and the elongated housing with at least one delivery conduit generally longitudinally arranged through the screw shaft, from a location proximal to the distal tip end of the screw. To accomplish such delivery, the screw shaft is replaced with a corresponding screw shaft with a bore extending through the distal tip end thereof, or the existing screw shaft is machined to have such a bore extend therethrough, from location proximal to the distal end out through the distal tip end. The bore in one embodiment may extend completely through the screw shaft, from its proximalmost end to its distalmost tip end. The conduit may be arranged to be movable in the bore, with respect to the screw shaft to permit delivery of a medium through the screw shaft to any plastic being worked by the machine. The medium may be any single or combination of components selected from the group comprising vapor, liquid, gas, powder or solid, to control the machine or treat any plastic being worked therefrom.

    摘要: An extruder that can control the temperature on the whole screw including the flight and avoid an extruded material form adhering on a surface of the screw, has a center hole with its front end closed formed in the center of the screw core, and an inner tube inserted in the center hole from the base end side of the center hole. The front end of the inner tube opens at a position corresponding to the base end of the flight. A ring seal member occludes a space between a front outer surface of the inner tuber and the corresponding inner surface of the center hole. Thus, a main channel of a dual tube is formed which has an outward channel inside the inner tube and an inward channel outside the inner tube. On the other hand, on the back side of the flight, a jacket-form spiral channel is formed along the whole backside. The front end and the rear end of the spiral channel each communicate with the outward channel and inward channel of the main channel, respectively, through radial communicating holes.

    摘要: The invention comprises an apparatus for the continuous extruding of a cohesive wire of a thermosetting elastomeric material at a temperature above the minimum curing temperature of said material from a particulate feed of said material in uncured form. The apparatus comprises a hollow generally horizontal cylinder, with a hole extending through an upper portion thereof and having a rotatingly powered screw longitudinally therewithin in close fitting relation to the inner wall thereof and adapted to force an elastomeric material towards one end of said cylinder. The apparatus includes means for controlling the temperature of said powered screw. A feed conduit is included extending generally upwardly from the hole. There is also provided a driven screw within the conduit in spaced apart relation from the inner wall thereof, the screw being driven in a direction to feed said elastomeric material generally upwardly away from said hole. The apparatus further includes an orifice adjacent said one end of said cylinder through which a cohesive wire of said elastomeric material is forced by action of said powered screw.
