    摘要: A mobile platform personnel berth unit and a method for creating the mobile platform personnel berth unit are provided. A male mandrel is created defining an inner mold line surface of the berth unit. The male mandrel is overlayed with one or more layers of filament strips. The filament layers are thermally cured to create an integrated structural member. The male mandrel is then removed from the structural member. The structural member is profile shaped to create a semi-finished berth unit having a top, a bottom and a pair of integral side panels. Additional entrance and back panels as well as access panels and connecting hardware are then added to complete the berth unit.

    摘要: A method for manufacturing an internal structure of a coach body having a self-supporting outer structure includes winding an inner covering layer on a winding core, attaching channel segments to a ceiling wall and insulation segments to corner regions, attaching heating fabric sheets to a floor wall and to side walls, attaching metal rails extending longitudinally to the floor wall and the side walls, filling between the rails with insulating foam, winding an outer covering layer to form an internal structure. After the setting of the resin impregnated layers, the internal structure is removed from the winding core and cut open longitudinally at the floor wall. The internal structure is elastically deformed and inserted into an outer structure. The walls of the internal structure are moved by a tensioning device into engagement with the outer structure and the internal structure is provisionally attached to the outer structure with fasteners.

    摘要: The manufacture of large scale wind turbine blades is accomplished by winding composite fiber materials onto a mandrel to form the desired airfoil shape. The winding process requires that the fibers always maintain contact with the mandrel surface. If the surface is concave the fibers will form a bridge over the concave surface portion which produces a void. This invention avoids bridging by analysis of the mandrel surface design including the steps of defining a plurality of coordinate points on the surface prior to winding thereof, and determining if a concavity will occur in the fiber winding plane passing through each coordinate point. If a concavity is located, the mandrel design coordinate point at the concavity is modified to eliminate the concavity and provide a continuous flat or convex surface in the fiber winding plane. The process can be automated by clerical or computing methods, and is repeated for each coordinate point until bridging is substantially eliminated.
