    摘要: Building the carcass structure of tires for vehicle wheels includes associating, at each end edge of a carcass ply, at least one respective annular reinforcement structure formed by depositing along a circumferential direction a plurality of reinforcement elements having a first length. Such elements are cut to size from a reinforced continuous band-like element fed to a cutting group arranged at a first operative position adapted to allow a barycentric grip of the reinforcement elements. The cutting group can translate along a feeding direction of the band-like element to a second operative position for cutting to size a plurality of second reinforcement elements having a second length different from the first length. The second operative position is defined on the basis of the second length, so as to have a barycentric grip of the second reinforcement elements too.

    摘要: A structure of a device for affixing a tire constituting cord on a core having an outer surface shape corresponding to an inner surface shape of a product tire is simplified and time for affixing operation is reduced. A cord affixing device (1) includes a frame (2), a motor (3), manipulators (4A), (4B), and a moving mechanism (5). The manipulators (4A), (4B) are capable of approaching to/separating from each other in the longitudinal direction of the frame (2) by the motor (3). At the tip ends of the manipulators (4A), (4B), finger chucks (10A), (10B) for holding the cord and pressing members (11A), (11B) for pressing the both ends of the cord (C) onto a bead molding portion are provided. The both ends of the cord (C) cut to a given length are held by the finger chucks (10A), (10B), and the cord (C) is affixed from a tread molding portion of the core (21) to the direction of the bead molding portion along the meridian while a tension is applied in the longitudinal direction.

The crown portions are disposed consecutively in side-by-side relationship along a circumferential extension of the toroidal support. The side portions of each first strip length cover in part or are partly covered by a side portion of at least one circumferentially-consecutive first strip length.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a pneumatic tire, in which carcass plies are formed by applying carcass cords over an outer surface of a toroidal core along cord paths extending in a meridian direction of the core are disclosed. A zigzag shaped carcass cord arrangement is formed by applying a carcass cord on an outer surface of an imaginary column axially of the imaginary column and sequentially engaging the carcass cord around hook pins arranged at opposite axial end portions of the outer surface of the imaginary column. The core is moved toward the carcass cord arrangement so that a center axis and an equatorial plane of the core are matched with a center axis and an axial center plane of the imaginary column, respectively. The hook pins arc moved radially toward the core so that an axial center portion of the carcass cord between the axially opposite hook pins are brought into contact with the outer surface of the core along its equatorial plane, and further moved radially from an outer peripheral side to an inner peripheral side of the core and also axially toward the core while maintaining tension of the carcass cords between the axial center portion situated at the equatorial plane of the core and the hooked portion engaged around the hook pins, so that the carcass cord is sequentially attached to the outer surface of the core from the outer peripheral side to the inner peripheral side of the core until the hooked portions of the carcass cord engaged around the hook pins are brought into contact with the outer surface of the core. Subsequently, the hooked portions of the carcass cord are pressed against the outer surface of the core for a given time so that the hooked portions of the carcass cord are attached to the core.

    摘要: A self-supporting tire for vehicle wheels includes a carcass structure having at least one carcass ply, a belt structure, a tread band, at least one pair of sidewalls, and at least one pair of resilient stiffening inserts incorporated into the carcass structure. The at least one carcass ply includes axially-inner strip lengths and axially-outer strip lengths, and may also include axially-intermediate strip lengths. Each of the strip lengths extend in a U-shaped configuration around a cross-section outline of the carcass structure to define two side portions spaced apart from each other in an axial direction and a crown portion extending at a radially-outer position between the side portions. The resilient stiffening inserts are axially interposed between the side portions of the axially-inner strip lengths and the side portions of the axially-outer strip lengths.

The annular reinforcing structures include first and second primary portions. The first (second) primary portion includes an axially-inner side turned towards end flaps of the strip sections of the first (third) series and an axially-outer side turned towards end flaps of the strip sections of the second (fourth) series.
