Abstract:
A compressor arrangement for automatically compressing ground coffee includes a housing having an inlet opening and an outlet opening with a retention flap which adjusts a bulk density of the ground coffee, conveying and compressing elements arranged in the housing which are driven by a first drive device, and an adjustment device which pre-adjusts the bulk density of the ground coffee. The adjustment device comprises a second drive device, a retention flap shaft, a retention flap arranged on the retention flap shaft, a transmission which is operatively connected to each of the second drive device and the retention flap shaft, and an automatic dynamic pressure adjustment apparatus which enlarges or reduce a preset of the opening angle dependent on a higher dynamic pressure or a lower dynamic pressure being exerted on the retention flap. The transmission comprises a transmission device which limits an opening angle of the retention flap.

Abstract:
The present subject matter provides methods and apparatus for packaging wood mulch. Examples include a wood mulch bale produced using a method comprising compressing wood mulch at a pressure of between 12,000 pounds and 60,000 pounds to form a volume of compressed wood mulch and disposing a band about the compressed volume of wood mulch, wherein the compressed volume of wood mulch is between about 3000 cubic inches and about 5400 cubic inches. Other variations are provided herein.
Abstract:
A system for processing waste on a continuous basis comprises an infeed assembly, a vessel held at a non-ambient pressure and/or temperature, and an outfeed assembly. The infeed assembly includes: a sleeve where waste is delivered; a gate construction that moves between an open and a closed position; and a ram that moves within the sleeve to compress waste when the gate construction is in the closed position and to push the compressed waste into the vessel, where it is metamorphically processed, when the gate construction is in the open position. The processed material moves from the vessel to the outfeed assembly, which includes a compaction chamber, a ram that moves within the compaction chamber, and a cutter assembly. Waste is compacted in the compaction chamber by the ram, cut by the cutter assembly, and delivered as a compacted block to an environment having an ambient pressure and/or temperature.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for pressing packs or bulk containers for recuperating liquids, in particular milk or fruit juice, which they contain. The inventive device is essentially characterised in that it comprises, in combination, a support plate (3), whereon are set the packs to be pressed (4), adapted to take up a high position for pressing the stacked packs (4) and a low position for pressuring the containers; a pressing plate (1), driven in a vertical reciprocating movement, adapted to press said packs or containers and means (2) adapted to delimit, with the plate (1) and the plate (3), a closed volume during the entire pressing phase. The means 82) is a sliding skirt, urged to be supported on the plate (3) when the packs (4) are pressed and a tank, delimited in its base by the plate (3), when the bulk containers are pressed.
Abstract:
A compaction and transfer apparatus adapted to measure the length and/or weight of a waste log during compaction and transfer thereof, is provided. The apparatus comprises a compaction chamber, a closure device, a compaction ram, and a movement and/or weight detector. The compaction chamber is adapted to receive waste material. The compaction chamber has a discharge opening. The closure device is selectively movable into and out of the discharge opening to control the size of the discharge opening. The compaction ram is movable through the chamber to press the waste material against the closure device and thereby provide compaction of the waste material. The movement detector preferably is mounted on the closure device. The movement detector is adapted to detect movement of the waste material through the discharge opening, which movement corresponds to the length of the waste log extending out of the discharge opening. The weight detector is adapted to detect a total weight of the waste material in the compaction chamber and any portion of the waste log which extends out through the discharge opening. Preferably, the weight and/or length is used in controlling the compaction and transferring operation so that capabilities of a trailer are not exceed. Also provided are methods of measuring the length and/or weight of a waste log during a compaction and transfer operation.
Abstract:
Baling press adapted to receive dried ordinary bales of hay and to compress them further, particularly to facilitate shipment of the bales. The press comprises a longitudinally extending compression chamber having substantially rigid lateral walls, an upstream end wall comprising a ram longitudinally movable between upstream and downstream extremes of movement, and a downstream end wall comprising an exit gate. The compression chamber is provided with novel bale ejection means comprising a longitudinally extending endless chain loop with first and second runs, the first run being attached to the ram and the second run being attached to a barbed ejection plate which engages and ejects bales in the compression chamber while moving downstream and which disengages matter within the compression chamber when moving upstream. The ram is moved downstream and the exit gate is prevented from opening by hydraulic cylinders connected to a common fluid supply so that each is actuated at the same time and supplied with the same pressure. The press includes feed measuring means which measure a selected number of ordinary bales of hay responsive to downstream movement of said ram, and which feed the pre-measured bales into the compression chamber responsive to upstream motion of said ram.The lateral walls of the compression chamber first taper inwardly toward a central waist portion of the compression chamber, and the lateral walls then taper outwardly downstream of said waist portion and upstream of the gate.
Abstract:
