摘要: A laminated glazing assembly includes an outer glass substrate, an inner glass substrate, and a polymeric interlayer disposed therebetween. The laminated glazing assembly also includes an antenna assembly disposed between the polymeric interlayer and one of the outer glass substrate and the inner glass substrate. The antenna assembly includes a film layer that carries a radiating element. The film layer may be a transparent film layer having a refractive index of from 1.45 to 1.55. The radiating element includes conductive wires disposed on the film layer and configured to be energized to transmit and/or receive radio frequency signals. The laminated glazing assembly may also include an adhesive layer disposed between the film layer and one of the outer glass substrate and the inner glass substrate, and a feeding element coupled to the inner glass substrate and capacitively coupled to the antenna assembly to energize the antenna assembly to transmit and/or receive radio frequency signals.

According to an embodiment of the inventive concept, the low emissivity film may include a first substrate, a first metal oxide layer, a first reflective layer, a second metal oxide layer, and a second substrate. The first metal oxide layer may reflect light having a wavelength of infrared rays. The light having a first wavelength is reflected by cavity effect of the first metal oxide layer, the first reflective layer, and the second metal oxide layer, and the light having a second wavelength may pass through the low emissivity film. Thus, the low emissivity film may express a color.

摘要: An automotive glazing, comprising an antenna connector is disclosed. The glazing comprises at least a first ply of a transparent glazing material, and a ply of a plastics material extending across the ply of glazing material and having a line-like electrical conductor in contact therewith, a portion of the electrical conductor line being configured to form an antenna conductor and a portion being configured to form a coupling region. In addition, a surface contact is provided on the surface of the first ply of glazing material situated away from the plastics material, in registration with the coupling region. The coupling region and the surface contact form a transmission line acting as a bandpass filter for a frequency band f, the portion of the electrical conductor forming the coupling region having a length approximately equal to an odd multiple of a quarter of a first effective wavelength λeff in the glazing corresponding to f. Signals received by the antenna in the bandwidth are transferred between the coupling region and the surface contact by low-impedance radio frequency coupling. Preferably, the surface contact and the coupling region form a two-line transmission line.

摘要: An assembly and method is provided for a decorative panel which may be utilized as a screen, wall, or other structural surface comprises a wire mesh woven with flat, substantially flat, or planar surfaced wires mounted within transparent or translucent sheets of glass, polycarbonate, plastic, and/or other glass-like material. The wires comprise twisted portions within the weave thereof whereby the twisting flat, substantially flat or planar surfaces thereby produce a visual effect. During construction of the panel, one or more sheets of binding material are positioned between the transparent or translucent sheet along with the mesh. The assembly is heated and compressed to thereby form a panel with all components bound together.

摘要: Fire resistant safety glasses are provided that included wire glasses having another layer of fire resistant material. In certain embodiments, a piece of wire glass has a sheet of fire resistant film adhered thereto. Such glasses have improved impact resistance compared to conventional wire glasses. Fire resistant safety glasses are also provided that combine improved impact resistance and fire protection and in some embodiments, improved thermal insulation, improved reflectivity and shielding against ionizing radiation. Safety glasses of this invention can be made using non-tempered or tempered glass, fire resistant plastics, fire resistant fiberglass, ceramics and other fire resistant glazing materials, and can be made in multiple layers, having one or more pieces of wire glass or fire resistant glazing materials. Fire resistant safety glasses of this invention can be made inexpensively and can have improved properties compared to conventional wire glass. By providing increased mechanical strength, the glasses of this invention can remain intact even if broken, thereby decreasing the risk of personal or property damage caused by glass shards.

摘要: Methods for forming electrically conductive heated dielectric panels are provided. The panels are utilized for warming objects and/or insuring unobstructed viewing through the panels by removing moisture. The methods include depositing electrically conductive metal bus bars onto the dielectric panel, onto which panel a conductive coating has previously been disposed. The conductive metal bus bars are deposited onto the coated dielectric panel through the use of a circularly rotating or an inline heating head and mask apparatus, in combination with an oxyacetylene or a plasma device. A metallic tab, which extends from the panel peripheral edge, is brought into electrical contact with each conductive metal bus bar for external electrical connectivity.
