Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for operating a high-resolution projection headlight for a motor vehicle. The high-resolution projection headlight has an active LED pixel matrix light source which comprises an LED matrix monolithically integrated into a semiconductor chip with a plurality of light diode-based pixels and a driver circuit for separately controlling each individual pixel within the LED matrix. A current digital image of a sequence of images is continuously rasterized by means of a graphical controller from graphical data with at least one graphical object (50) and is provided for image reproduction with the projection headlight. A value for a thermal loading of the LED pixel matrix light source is continuously determined. During the rasterizing of a current digital image, surface areas (52) of the graphical objects (50) to be projected are at least partially masked with a masking (60, 61) and modulated, provided that the value for thermal loading exceeds a limit value. The invention also relates to a corresponding projection headlight system for a motor vehicle.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes methods and systems for creating, using, and controlling LED headlight topologies and matrices that require fewer parts, electricity, and power, while allowing for advanced features such as bend lighting. The disclosed methods and systems can enable the use of smaller electrical systems, including control systems for LED and other headlight topologies. The disclosed methods and systems can also take advantage of pixel pairing and time multiplexing, among other methods, to manage electrical flow to minimize power needed over the circuit at given times, thus reducing the amount of material needed to create the LED headlight topology and related methods and systems for creating, using, and controlling the LED headlight topology.

Abstract: A camouflaged vehicle includes a vehicle having lighting equipment and a plurality of windows, a camouflage positioned over an exterior of the vehicle and allowing visibility through at least a portion of the plurality of windows, and additional lighting equipment supported by said vehicle outside of said camouflage. At least a portion of the lighting equipment may be visible through the camouflage. A control module for controlling the lighting equipment is provided and the additional lighting equipment is controlled by the control module in parallel with the lighting equipment, and sensors, positioned between the control module and the lighting equipment, sense the application of power and generate additional control signals to operate the additional lighting equipment. The additional lighting equipment may include a minimum number of lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment required to satisfy the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108.
