Assemblies may include a tether configured to engage two portions of the stiffeners. In some examples, a headliner assembly may include a moon roof stiffener and a side rail stiffener with a tether that engages portions of each. The tether may provide retention forces in the event of an airbag deployment or headliner impact to retain portions of the stiffeners that may fracture or break.

When a roll shade is arranged at a retreat position, incident light penetrates a glass roof thence penetrates a supporting member and a closing member exhibiting translucency and finally penetrates an opaque skin material exhibiting translucency. Since the opaque skin material covers a ceiling matrix on the inside of the compartment and closes the ceiling opening continuously from the inside of the compartment, if a roll shade is arranged at the light shielding position, the ceiling opening cannot be distinguished easily by a crewman when the crewman looks the vehicle roof side from the inside of the compartment and it is recognized as continuous interior.

摘要： A headliner assembly covers an inner surface of a motor vehicle roof having a sunroof opening. The headliner assembly includes a dimensionally stable substrate having a first edge extending along the sunroof opening. The substrate has an upper surface facing the inner surface of the motor vehicle roof. The substrate further has a bottom surface opposite the upper surface. A molded reinforcement is fixedly secured to the upper surface of the substrate. The reinforcement has a second edge extending along the sunroof opening. The second edge of the reinforcement has a contoured portion that extends further inwardly toward a center of the sunroof opening relative to the first edge of the substrate. A trim cover has a third edge extending along the sunroof opening. The trim cover is disposed along the bottom surface of the substrate and extends around the contoured portion of the reinforcement so that the third edge of the trim cover is disposed between the upper surface of the substrate and the inner surface of the motor vehicle roof.

摘要： An assembly for creating a folded edge for a flexible headliner material. A table defines an outer configured perimeter upon which is supported the headliner with or without a supporting template. Pairs of primary and secondary fingers are arranged at perimeter spaced locations in mounted fashion over the outer configured perimeter. The fingers contact outwardly displaceable fashion relative to the headliner inner perimeter, and such that the fingers are cooperatively displaced in a first step imparting a bent edge to the headliner. A projecting edge of the secondary finger is subsequently displaced over a terminating edge of the first finger in order to fold over the bent edge, or against the template, to form the edge profile to the headliner in a non-pleated fashion.

The attachment structure has spaced apart pair of side walls extending between the main wall and the inner surface of the motor vehicle roof. The attachment structure has a top wall extending between tie side walls of the attachment structure. The attachment structure also includes a reinforcing wall extending between the top wall and the side walls. The reinforcing wall contacts the substrate to control the distance between the substrate and the molded reinforcement.

A glass roof module having a glass roof panel is set onto the mounting portions or troughs and is attached to the mounting portions or troughs.
