    摘要： A child resistant tablet package accommodates low density pharmaceutical tablets. The package includes a blister tray having a plurality of blister depressions which accommodate the low density porous pharmaceutical tablets. The blister tray further includes a frangible tray extent spaced adjacent to each blister depression. The frangible tray extent may be manually punctured through the surface of the blister tray. A planar lid is removably sealed over the blister tray and encloses the tablets within the blister depressions. The blister lid includes frangible cover extents overlying each of the frangible tray extents. The cover extents and the tray extents may be frangibly displaced so as to establish a graspable peel tab to facilitate peelable removal of portions of the cover from the overlying disposition with respect to the blister depressions so as to expose the tablets for dispensing.

The false end wall extends between a top wall and a bottom wall to enhance the structural integrity of the outer sleeve. The false end wall provides child resistance in that it prevents a user from manipulating the outer sleeve to inadvertently disengage a locking feature that lockably retains a slide card in the outer sleeve. The false end wall also prevents a user from accessing the slide card through an opening that is created by removing an end wall.

    摘要： The present invention is directed to a blister pack opener which includes a structure designed to receive a soft pack of individually segregated unit dosages of medication. The opener or soft pack puncturing mechanism has a base segment and a top segment hingedly connected to one another. The base segment has an orifice located thereon which is of sufficient size to receive a unit dosage section of a soft pack commonly referred to as a "blister" and the top segment has a protrusion adapted to nest within the orifice of the bottom segment. The protrusion of the top segment has sufficient height so as to puncture a dosage unit section of a soft pack of medication. When a dosage unit or "blister" is placed within the orifice of the bottom segment and the top segment is hingedly pushed downwardly, the protrusion on the top segment will puncture the foil or flat element of the blister pack. Preferably, the puncture mechanism has toothed edges on this protrusion to enhance puncturing. Also, in preferred embodiments, the opener has grasping protrusions which help to hold the blister pack in place during puncturing.
