摘要: Composite fibers and methods of manufacturing composite fibers for the reinforcement of concrete are provided. The composite fibers include fibers and a polymeric coating. The composite fibers have a length of about 10 mm to about 80 mm and an equivalent diameter from about 0.3 mm to about 2 mm. A method for reinforcing concrete using the composite fibers is further provided.

摘要: A density controlled cold fusion concrete cementitious spray applied fireproofing material including a mixture of water, one or more of silicon dioxide, expanded glass, vermiculite, bottom ash, perlite, expanded shale, expanded polystyrene, and sulfonated formaldehyde, or other lightweight aggregates of various diameter sizes ranging from about 0.025 mm to about 12.5 mm in diameter; anhydrous or hydrous sodium or potassium metasilicate; waste from steel production consisting of Granulated Ground Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS); high calcium or low calcium waste from coal combustion (fly ash or bottom ash); sodium tetraborate, sodium citrate dihydrate, citric acid, or boric acid; and an alkali-resistant micro-fiber.

摘要: An alkali resistant glass composition having improved durability to withstand highly alkali environments at elevated temperatures, such as curing of cementitious products in an autoclave, is conveniently formed from economical and abundant materials. The glass composition includes increased levels of calcium and iron, and relatively low levels of alkali metals, as compared to many other alkali resistant glass products, and comprises essentially of, by weight, >35% Si2O3, 1-25% CaO, 1-15% Fe2O3, 1-10% R2O, and an amount of Al2O3 such that the ratio of Si2O3:Al2O3 is greater than or equal to 1. Alkali resistance can be improved by forming a passivity layer on the surface of glass articles by treating the articles hydrothermally in a basic environment. Optionally zirconia and/or titania may be added to the composition to further improve alkali resistance.

摘要: A composite ceramic-ceramic material is disclosed having a fibrous reinforcing ceramic and a ceramic matrix made of a geopolymeric compound containing:(a) a poly(sialate) geopolymer M.sub.n (--Si--O--Al--O--).sub.n and/or poly(sialate-siloxo) M.sub.n (--Si--O--Al--O--Si--O--).sub.n, M representing at least one alkaline cation, and n the degree of polymerization;(b) ultrafine silicious and/or aluminous and/or silico-aluminous constituents, of size smaller than 5 microns, preferably lower than 2 microns,the said geopolymeric compound being obtained by polycondensation at a temperature between 20.degree. C. and 120.degree. C. of an alkaline alumino-silicate reaction mixture, the composition of the principal constituents of the said geopolymeric compound expressed in terms of mole ratios of the oxides being between or equal to following values:M.sub.2 O/SiO.sub.2 --0.10 TO 0.95,SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 --2.50 TO 6.00,M.sub.2 O/Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 --0.25 TO 5.70,M.sub.2 O representing either Na.sub.2 O and/or K.sub.2 O, or a mixture of at least one alkaline oxide with CaO.The fibrous reinforcement consists of ceramic fibres such as SiC, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, glass, carbon. The coating includes a polymer composition and an alkali scavenger, wherein the alkali scavenger includes an acid having a pKa of greater than about 3, wherein the acid is in a liquid state at 25° C. Further provided is a reinforcing cementitious board and a method of making a cementitious board.
