Abstract:
Provided is an emulsion matrix ground station with intrinsic safety, which relates to the technical field of emulsion matrix preparation process and apparatus of mobile ground auxiliary equipment in civil explosive industry. The emulsion matrix ground station may include a water phase tank, an oil phase tank, a water phase pump, an oil phase pump and a static emulsification device. The water phase pump may have an inlet connected to an outlet of the water phase tank by a pipeline, and an outlet connected to a water phase inlet of the static emulsification device by a pipeline. The oil phase pump may have an inlet connected to an outlet of the oil phase tank by a pipeline, and an outlet connected to an oil phase inlet of the static emulsification device by a pipeline.
Abstract:
A method of producing DEMN eutectic comprises reacting a reactant mixture comprising ethylenediamine and diethylenetriamine with aqueous nitric acid to form a reaction mixture comprising diethylentriamine trinitrate and ethylenediamine dinitrate. The reaction mixture is combined with methylnitroguanidine and nitroguanidine to form an aqueous slurry. Water is removed from the aqueous slurry. A method of producing an energetic composition, and a system for producing DEMN eutectic are also described.
Abstract:
A binary exploding target package, a process of forming an exploding target from the contents of the binary exploding target package, and the exploding target formed therefrom. The binary exploding target package includes a first, target container and a second container. An oxidizer composition is contained within one of the containers and a catalyst composition is contained within the other container. An exploding target is formed by mixing the oxidizer and catalyst compositions, and introducing the mixture into the target container to form an exploding target just prior to using the exploding target as a target for a shooting exercise.
Abstract:
A cylinder for transporting hazardous material such as hypergole material which is fabricated from stainless steel and includes a containment system for containing any spillage in the event of malfunction during loading and unloading. The cylinder also includes a bottom skirt, attached to the lower head of the pressure vessel, and which contains a pocket assembly for the reception of fork lift and pallet lift equipment. A locking system is provided for the valves which will prevent accidental opening or closing of the valve.
Abstract:
For producing propellant charge granular material several small diameter pellant charge strands are continuously extruded, individually placed on a support behind the extruder and conveyed over a setting zone. The strands are subsequently supplied on a sloping zone to a cutting plate with a number of guide holes corresponding to the number of strands. On passing out of the guide holes the strands are cut to the desired length by cutting blades rotating being the cutting plate.
Abstract:
Tablets of aluminum and potassium perchlorate (ALCLO), used to ignite a perred fuel in a closed cycle steam engine, are wrapped in aluminum foil to avoid the creation of powdered ALCLO. The prevention of powdering the ALCLO tablets reduces the possibility of inadvertent ignition from electrostatic discharge, ignition by mechanical or other means. Also, the creation of higher than intended burn rates is prevented when intentional ignition is initiated.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method and a device for producing compositions comprising fine-grained crystalline explosive substances with the aid of a steam-driven ejector (22). The expression explosive substances is here taken to mean both low and high explosives.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to packaged explosives and methods of manufacture thereof and more particularly to packaged emulsion explosives. The term "emulsion" as hereafter used shall mean an oil-continuous emulsion having a continuous organic fuel phase and a discontinuous oxidizer solution phase dispersed as fine droplets throughout the fuel phase. The term "explosive" shall mean a detonable composition which can be either cap-sensitive or noncap-sensitive, as desired. The term "packaged" shall refer to cylindrical tubes or sticks of emulsion explosive of any desired length and having a diameter of generally four (4) inches or less, although larger diameter products also can be made by the methods described herein.
Abstract:
A feeder comprising a hopper and a pusher, the pusher comprising a pusher sleeve, which is provided at its bottom with a perforated plate, and a cylinder actuating the pusher sleeve along the wall surface of the hopper, which directly supplies a W/O emulsion explosive into a cartridge machine without mixing with air and without breakage of hollow microspheres.
Abstract:
This invention concerns treatment of the heat-fusible materials by use of a fusing agent, according to which a fusing agent capable of producing red hot "embers" by combustion is applied to the surface of a worked object such as a sign formed from a heat-fusible material and worked at a construction site or to the area to be newly worked, and then said fusing agent is ignited and burned so that the combustion heat of the resultantly produced "embers" is directly conducted to the material to be worked to thereby remove the fused material from the worked area or fuse and affix the material to the working area.
