摘要:
An improved process for forming a PTFE mat is described. The process includes providing a dispersion with PTFE, a fiberizing polymer and a solvent wherein said dispersion has a viscosity of at least 50,000 cP. An apparatus is provided which comprises a charge source and a target a distance from the charge source. A voltage source is provided which creates a first charge at the charge source and an opposing charge at the target. The dispersion is electrostatically charged by contact with the charge source. The electrostatically charged dispersion is collected on the target to form a mat precursor which is heated to remove the solvent and the fiberizing polymer thereby forming the PTFE mat.

A stent or other prosthesis may be formed by encapsulating a scaffold or frame with a polymer coating. The polymer coating may consist of layers of electrospun polytetrafluoroethylne (PTFE). Electrospun PTFE of certain porosities may permit endothelial cell growth within the prosthesis. The stent may be applicable to stents designed for the central venous system, peripheral vascular stents, abdominal aortic aneurism stents, bronchial stents, esophageal stents, biliary stents, or any other stent.

A porous membrane of vinylidene fluoride resin, including a 10 μm-thick portion contiguous to one surface thereof which comprises network resin fibers having an average diameter of at most 100 nm and shows a porosity A1 of at least 60% as measured by a focused ion beam-scanning electron microscope, and showing a surface pore size of at most 0.3 μm on said one surface thereof. The porous membrane has a treated water side surface layer showing a small surface pore size suitable for water filtration treatment and formed of extremely thin network resin fibers giving an extremely high porosity, thus showing an excellent minute particle-blocking performance and also extremely good anti-soiling resistance and regeneratability. The porous membrane is produced by a process including: melt-extrusion of a composition obtained by adding to vinylidene fluoride resin of a large molecular weight a relatively large amount of a polyester plasticizer which is mutually soluble with the resin and provides the resultant mixture with a crystallization temperature that is substantially identical to that of the vinylidene fluoride resin alone to form film, followed by cooling from one side of the film to solidify the film, extracting the plasticizer and stretching the membrane after the extraction while partially wetting a surface portion thereof.

To provide a fiber made of a vinyl chloride resin which is excellent in heat resistance and thus hardly shrinks thermally even at a temperature exceeding 100° C.The fiber obtained by melt-spinning a resin composition comprising a vinyl chloride resin and from 1 to 300 parts by mass of a polyester resin based on 100 parts by mass of the vinyl chloride resin, wherein the vinyl chloride resin has a viscosity average polymerization degree of from 600 to 2,500; the polyester resin is a polylactic acid type resin; and the polyester resin has the melting point of from 100 to 300° C.

A process is disclosed for dispersion spinning non-melt-processible fluoropolymer fiber in which a mixture of an aqueous dispersion of non-melt-processible fluoropolymer particles and an aqueous solution of a matrix polymer is formed. The non-melt-processible fluoropolymer particles have an SSG of less than about 2.40 and comprise a core of high molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene and a shell of lower molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene or modified polytetrafluoroethylene. The mixture is extruded into a coagulation bath containing a concentration of ions which coagulate the matrix polymer to form an intermediate fiber structure. The intermediate fiber structure is sintered to decompose the matrix polymer and coalesce the non-melt-processible fluoropolymer particles to form the fiber. The present invention also provides for spinning composition useful for the dispersion spinning of non-melt-processible fluoropolymer fiber.
