摘要: A substrate including a plurality of monofilaments, or a combination of monofilaments and multi-filament yarns oriented in perpendicular directions, has a tendency to curl around a central space. When all monofilaments are used, the monofilaments along one direction may have a larger diameter than the monofilaments along the other direction. The monofilaments are woven such that the larger diameter monofilaments form floats predominantly on one side of the substrate. For the monofilament-multifilament combination the monofilaments form floats predominantly on one side of the substrate. The substrate curls about an axis parallel to the monofilaments forming the floats. The side having the floats faces outwardly away from the central space. Preferably, the monofilaments are oriented in the warp direction along the substrate. The filaments may be woven in a herringbone twill weave, a double cloth herringbone twill weave or a satin weave to provide the floats.

摘要: A garment article is made of a fabric including a plurality of warp and weft yarns woven together in a pattern; at least the weft yarns include elastomeric yarns, to provide an elasticity of the fabric in warp direction that is at least 7% and elasticity of the fabric in weft direction that is at least 15%; the fabric of the garment is bias cut so that the weft yarns in the garment are angled with respect to the widthwise direction (WD) of the article.

摘要: A fabric with wefts that include hard yarns and elastomeric yarns in a predetermined arrangement such that at least one hard yarn is alternately arranged with at least one elastomeric yarn, the elastomeric yarns having a greater shrinkage ratio than that of the hard yarns; the hard yarns form under portions and over portions with respect to warps, said under portions being formed when said hard yarns pass along the back side of the warps and defining loop portions, and said over portions being formed when the hard yarns pass along the front side of the warps and define connection portions, wherein for each hard yarn, an average number of warps passed by the loop portion is at least 6, and wherein the elastomeric yarns form under portions and over portions with respect to said warps in a weave that is tighter than the weave of the hard yarns.

摘要: Woven fabrics made from non-stretch yarns yet having high levels of stretch and recovery are described. The fabrics include at least about 50% of a synthetic fiber component, and are woven such that the warp and filling are approximately balanced by weight before warp contraction, with about 50% warp density or less. The fabrics are exposed to a cumulative dynamic tension in the warp direction of at least about 250 min-lb/linear ft, and are then finished to about 70-80% of their reed width at a temperature greater than or equal to the heat set temperature for the synthetic fiber component. The fabrics may also be exposed to a face finishing process and/or a fluid treatment process.
