An engineered composite building material, such as fiber cement, having one or more engineered sub-surface regions designed to provide the building material with improved moisture ingress resistance, paint adhesion, and other mechanical properties is provided. The sub-surface region has a cement-polymer matrix formed by introducing an impregnating agent into the pores of the substrate. The composite building material may be formed by applying impregnating agents to the subsurface regions of the substrate to form chemical and/or mechanical bonds with the matrix of the building material, the reinforcement fibers, and/or the surface coatings applied to the material. The thickness of the sub-surface regions may be controlled by varying the viscosity and porosity of the building material substrate. The cement-polymer building material has enhanced durability, weather resistance, strength, and stiffness.

The confidence level for each of the text components may be compared to a legibility threshold for determining whether the text component is legible or illegible. Based, at least in part, on the determination as to how much of the text in the image is legible or illegible, an overall legibility of the image may be assessed.

The system comprises a sensor array (1), a necessary peripheral circuit, and a signal receiving and display device for receiving and displaying the signal sent by the peripheral circuit. The present invention can accurately simulate the presented attitude of the femoral head prosthesis during hip joint replacement procedure, so that a doctor can intuitively see the position and movement condition of the femoral head prosthesis during the procedure, thus improving the success rate and curative effect of the hip joint replacement procedure.

According to certain aspects, the present invention enables coverage of the full design while lowering the computation cost by intelligently selecting a subset of patterns from a design in which the design or a modification of the design is configured to be imaged onto a substrate via a lithographic process. The method of selecting the subset of patterns from a design includes identifying a set of patterns from the design related to the predefined representation of the design. By selecting the subset of patterns according to the method, the selected subset of patterns constitutes a similar predefined representation of the design as the set of patterns.

A representative image processing method includes processing an image of a microelectronic device using a fast marching algorithm to obtain arrival time information for the image. The arrival time information is analyzed using a targeted feature descriptor to identify targeted features. The detection of defects is facilitated by segmenting the image. The segmented image can be analyzed to identify targeted features which are then labeled for inspection.
