    摘要: The invention relates to a method for determining engine oil servicing dates for a motor vehicle engine as a function of recorded engine operating parameters. According to the invention, the number of engine revolutions and at least one engine other operating parameter relevant to engine oil ageing are continuously recorded and, on the basis of this, a fictitious distance is determined by associating the recorded engine revolutions with the evaluation factors dependent on recorded engine operating parameter(s) relevant to engine oil ageing in accordance with a predeterminable association relationship. From this, a remaining operating distance until the next engine oil servicing date is then calculated by subtracting the determined fictitious distance from a specified total distance potential.

    摘要: An improved method and system for automatically continuously removing an engine's used lubricating oil and injecting the used oil into the engine's fuel system throughout operation based on engine operating conditions is disclosed. The present system includes a lube oil replacement pump system for injecting small amounts of used lube oil into the engine's fuel system and recycling controlled quantities of removed used oil into the engine's lube oil system. The process periodically determines an engine operating severity value, i.e. fuel consumption value, for an interval of engine operation and calculates a base line quantity of oil for injection based on the current fuel consumption of the engine during the current interval. The lube oil pump system may be in the form of a compact, unitized lube oil replacement pump assembly integrating the various components of the system. The system maintains the oil concentration in the engine's fuel at an acceptable level while permitting existing oil level detecting and maintenance systems or procedures to be used to maintain the lube oil level in the engine sump.

The method includes setting an original oil life, which is measured by event units occurring in the engine, and measuring a lapse of the event units. The method calculates a remaining oil life as a function of the lapse of event units and the original oil life. The remaining oil life is expressed in terms of the event units. The method monitors for oil additions and calculates an addition credit from any monitored oil additions. The method also includes calculating a modified oil life as a function of the addition credit, wherein the modified oil life is expressed in terms of the event units.
