摘要: A muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, especially for vehicles with hybrid drive, includes a muffler housing (12), a heat exchanger unit (48), arranged in the muffler housing (12), for transferring heat from combustion exhaust gas to a heat transfer medium, an inlet pipe (38), a first outlet pipe (52) and a second outlet pipe (40). A first exhaust gas flow path (54), in the muffler housing, routs exhaust gas through the heat exchanger unit (48) to the first outlet pipe (52). A second exhaust gas flow path (56), in the muffler housing, routs exhaust gas to a second outlet pipe (40), bypassing the heat exchanger unit (48). A flow path blocking/releasing device (58) for blocking and releasing at least one exhaust gas flow path (54, 56), of the first exhaust gas flow path (54) and of the second exhaust gas flow path (56).

The sound suppression apparatus comprises a resistive sound-absorbing element (110) and a housing providing a reactive sound-attenuating element (130) communicating with a surrounding of the apparatus via opening in an outer surface of the housing. An outer surface of the sound suppression apparatus comprises an outer surface of the resistive sound-absorbing element and the outer surface of the housing. A gas transport duct comprising the sound suppression apparatus is also provided.

摘要: An exhaust muffler in which the anti-scattering property of a sound deadening element is high and for which shaping is not required and a sound deadening element for use with the exhaust muffler. An exhaust muffler includes an expansion chamber into which exhaust gas of an engine is introduced, and a sound deadening element in which the expansion chamber is inserted. The sound deadening element is configured from a knitted article formed by knitting continuous fibers of glass fiber. The exhaust muffler further includes an inner pipe inserted in a spaced relationship from an inner circumferential wall of the expansion chamber in the expansion chamber and configured to introduce the exhaust gas therethrough. The sound deadening element is disposed between an outer circumferential wall of the inner pipe and the inner circumferential wall of the expansion chamber.

摘要: A muffler shell (1) for use in an exhaust system of a vehicle comprises an inner metal sheet (13) and an outer metal sheet (10). The outer metal sheet (10) is arranged to enclose the inner metal sheet (13). The muffler shell further comprises a vibro-acoustical dampening material (14) sandwiched between the inner metal sheet (13) and the outer metal sheet (10). Both the inner metal sheet (13) and the outer metal sheet (10) are corrugated sheets made of stainless steel having a thickness in the range of 0.15 mm to 0.30 mm. The vibro-acoustical dampening material has a thickness (T) in the range of 4 mm to 8 mm and a density in the range of 130 kg/m3 to 160 kg/m3.

A chamber (18) in the housing interior (3), through which exhaust gas flows during operation, is axially limited by intermediate panels (20, 21) at axial ends. The thermal load on the jacket (16) is reduced with an insulating shell (29), arranged in the housing interior, extending in the circumferential direction (17) along the jacket (16). The two intermediate panels (20, 21) are supported on the insulating shell (29), each with an outer panel edge (30, 31). The insulating shell (29) is supported radially on the jacket (16) with a shell edge (33). An insulating gap (35) is formed radially between the jacket and the insulating shell.

摘要: An exhaust muffler for a vehicle includes: a sleeve portion made up of an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve; an upstream side cover that has an exhaust entrance and that closes an upstream side opening of the sleeve portion; and a downstream side cover that has an exhaust exit and that closes a downstream side opening of the sleeve portion. At least one of the upstream side cover and the downstream side cover has a peripheral flange portion that externally holds the sleeve portion. The peripheral flange portion has an outer sleeve holding portion and an inner sleeve holding portion. One end portion of the inner sleeve abuts on the inner sleeve holding portion so as to be slidable in a length direction of the inner sleeve. One end portion of the outer sleeve is fixed to the outer sleeve holding portion.

摘要: The invention relates to an exhaust gas after-treatment device for an internal combustion engine, including a housing into which an exhaust pipe that opens into a mixing chamber penetrates. The mixing chamber is shaped as a pot and reverses a direction of flow of the incoming exhaust gas whereby it returns the exhaust gas radially outside of the exhaust pipe. An open end of the pot-shaped mixing chamber opens into a collecting space which is designed so that it supplies the exhaust gas to at least one downstream SCR catalytic converter.

摘要: A silencer apparatus for attenuating noise in gas flow systems. The apparatus generally includes a housing having an interior cavity and a gas flow inlet and outlet that are adapted to be connected to a passage such that a gas flowing through the passage enters and exits the cavity of the housing through the inlet and outlet, respectively. A silencer cartridge unit is removably disposed within the interior cavity of the housing and defines a gas flow path fluidically connected to the inlet and outlet of the housing. The silencer cartridge unit has at least one sound-attenuating element that surrounds the gas flow path. The housing is further equipped with a closure that sealingly closes a portion of the housing, and is releasable from the housing to provide an access opening through which the silencer cartridge unit can be removed. The apparatus can also be adapted to include a filtration medium.
