摘要: A vehicle exhaust system includes a subsystem having an exterior pipe formed of a polymer. A rigid liner extends along the length of the exterior pipe and defines a passageway. A fiber insulating layer is formed between the rigid liner and the exterior pipe. The liner is formed to define at least one groove circumscribing the periphery of the passageway. The groove defines a region of increased volume of the exhaust passage along the length. The liner is further formed to define at least one void extending between the wall of the liner and the insulating layer, around the periphery of the passageway. A plurality of apertures in the liner, allow sound waves to pass from the passageway into the fiber insulating layer, and into the void.

摘要: An exhaust redirect line in communication with an engine exhaust channel of a marine vehicle receiving exhaust gas. A blower unit in the exhaust redirect line directing the exhaust gas through the exhaust redirect line. A mixing chamber in communication with the exhaust redirect line receiving the engine exhaust gas. An injector unit in communication with the mixing chamber introducing a chemical agent, air and water into the mixing chamber to provide a treated exhaust gas. An output vane disposed on an exterior underside of a hull being in communication with the mixing chamber discharging the treated exhaust gas underneath the hull as a foam, whereby the engine exhaust gas is encapsulated and detoxified by the chemical agent in the foam to prevent the exhaust gas from entering the surrounding water and wherein the foam reduces friction between the hull and the surrounding water to improve engine efficiency.

摘要: An outboard motor includes an elastic seal lid attached to an under cover to form a hermetic seal between the under cover and an exhaust release pipe while closing an opening of the under cover from which an outlet portion of the exhaust release pip projects outwardly. The seal lid includes a tubular seal portion projecting from at leaser one surface of a plate-like body of the seal lid. The tubular seal portion has annular seal lips fitted around an outer circumferential surface of the exhaust release pipe. The tubular seal portion is elastically deformable relative to the lid body to thereby take up or absorb an offset between the exhaust release pipe and the opening of the under cover produced due to cumulative manufacturing and assembling tolerances of relevant parts of the outboard motor.

摘要: Disclosed are apparatus and methodology for reducing noise and wear in a flapper configured exhaust tip for a marine exhaust system. A flapper, normally located within an exhaust tip of a marine exhaust system, is relocated upstream of the point in the exhaust system where cooling water normally contacts the exhaust pipe. An exhaust tip is coupled to the upstream portion of the exhaust system by way of an elastomeric coupling device. The flapper is positioned such that a tip thereof contacts the elastomeric coupling rather than the metallic exhaust pipe. Such contact with an elastomeric coupling device reduces noise previously produced by flapper contact with the hot exhaust pipe occasioned by destruction and/or heat degeneration of elastomeric material generally associated with the flapper device.

The engine has a fuel supply system including a fuel tank positioned towards the front end of the watercraft from the engine and generally at an end of the engine opposite the water propulsion device, the engine having an exhaust system defining an exhaust flow path from the engine towards the front end of the watercraft along a first side of the fuel tank and then along a second side of the fuel tank towards the rear of said watercraft to an exhaust discharge.
