摘要: A peristaltic transport device comprising a tube member having an inner space to receive material, the member includes a series of repeating sections wherein each of the sections includes a plurality of bladders to selectively occlude portions of the inner space according to a defined peristaltic sequence to transport the material through the inner space. An actuator assembly is coupled to the tube member to control the selective occlusion of the inner space by selectively expanding and contracting ones of the plurality of bladders according to the defined peristaltic sequence. The actuator assembly simultaneously controls corresponding ones of the plurality of bladders across the series of repeating sections.

摘要: A safety interlock for use in a medical device having a control system for controlling operation of the medical device includes a central tubular portion defining a fluid passage for passing fluid through the safety interlock. An outer ring portion is adapted for mounting the safety interlock in the medical device. A spoked connector portion connects the central tubular portion to the outer ring portion so that the outer ring portion is spaced radially outwardly from the central tubular portion in opposed relation with at least a portion of the central tubular portion. The safety interlock is adapted for mounting in the medical device in a path of electromagnetic radiation from a source of electromagnetic radiation such that the central tubular portion reflects the electromagnetic radiation to a electromagnetic radiation detector when properly loaded on the medical device.

摘要: A roller pump conduit defining a pump chamber is provided. The roller pump conduit includes a roller contact portion having a fill region and a delivery region. The fill region has a first taper configured to determine volume delivery per revolution of a roller head. The delivery region has a pressure region having a second taper and a discharge region having a third taper. The third taper has a lesser degree of taper than the second taper. The delivery region is configured to produce a pulsatile flow out of the conduit. Furthermore, a roller pump having a roller pump conduit is provided. The roller pump conduit of the roller pump has a fill region and a delivery region, the fill region having a first taper, and the delivery region having a second and third taper, wherein the third taper has lesser degree of taper than the second taper.

摘要: A peristaltic pump having controlled suction. In one embodiment, the pump includes a tubing which is collapsed when the internal pressure of the tubing is equal to or less than ambient. In this state, the pump is unable to generate negative pressures. An air-tight housing may be provided over the tubing and connected to a vacuum source. Upon a vacuum being applied, the tubing is capable of controllably producing negative pressures, allowing the pump to be operated as a suction pump. In another embodiment the tubing exhibits a variable cross-sectional width.

摘要: A self-regulating peristaltic pump having a pumping chamber of enhanced operating life. The operating life of the tubing is improved by a combination of features including providing the tubing with a naturally collapsed passageway. The tubing is collapsed when the internal pressure of the tubing is equal to or less than ambient. In this state, the pump is unable to generate negative pressures. Upon fluid being supplied to the tubing at a pressure greater than ambient, the tubing inflates and cooperates with rollers of the pump to transmit the fluid. The pump also includes a novel means for adjusting and regulating the tension of the tubing further enhancing the operating life of the tubing.

摘要: The construction of a pumping system adapted for utilization in transfering fluids primarily in the graphic art. The pumping system includes housing means having an inlet opening and an outlet opening extending therethrough with pumping means mounted within the housing means and operatively connected with the inlet and outlet openings to receive a fluid in the inlet opening and pumping same through the pumping means to exit through the outlet opening, the said pumping means including, a rotary structure rotatably mounted within the housing means and having a plurality of spaced rotary members mounted thereupon for rotation therewith and independent rotation thereto and a fluid conducting tube positioned in relationship to said rollers as to be sequencially engaged, and rotating means coupled to said rotary structure. Coupling means are provided at each end of the fluid conducting tube for operatively connecting to the inlet and outlet openings, with regulating means associated with the fluid and movement relative to the rotary members wherein the tension in the conducting tube may be regulated. Guide means is associated with the regulating means to control the direction of movement thereof during adjustment, the guide means includes a pair of spaced apart supports secured to the housing means and confining the regulating means so that the latter may ride freely with respect thereto.
