摘要: A compressor includes a diffuser passage configured to receive refrigerant flow from an impeller of the compressor, where the diffuser passage is at least partially defined by a compressor discharge plate of the compressor. The compressor also includes a variable geometry diffuser positioned within the diffuser passage and configured to adjust a dimension of a refrigerant flow path through the diffuser passage, an actuator coupled to the variable geometry diffuser and configured to adjust a position of the variable geometry diffuser within the diffuser passage, and a controller configured to regulate operation of the actuator. The controller is configured to instruct the actuator to adjust the position of the variable geometry diffuser from a first position to a second position using a first force and to adjust the position of the variable geometry diffuser from the second position to a third position using a second force less than the first force, where the variable geometry diffuser abuts the compressor discharge plate in the third position.

摘要: Engine (30) has a compression fan (36) coaxially mounted with reaction member (38). Casing (32) extends around reaction member (38) to form volute (52) and extends to turbine wheel (54) which is connected to compression fan (36) via axle (40). Reaction member (38) comprises vanes (60), flame grid (62) and supporting members in the form of side casings (64). A mixture of fuel and air enters engine (30) via inlets (34). The mixture is drawn into compression fan (36) which causes an increase in the pressure of the mixture. From the compression fan (36) the mixture is directed towards the reaction member (38). Because the compression fan (36) is rotating in a first sense and the reaction member (38) is rotating in a second sense, the velocity of the fuel and air mixture entering the reaction member (38), relative to the reaction member (38), is approximately the sum of the external rim velocity of the compression fan (36) and the internal rim velocity of the reaction member (36). The mixture is burnt within the reaction member (38) and the vectored gases cause the rotation of the reaction member (38) in the second sense.

摘要: A rotary radial flow machine such as a centrifugal compressor for compressing gas, and having an annular shroud encompassing the rotor blades thereof and forming with the surrounding portion of the machine an enclosed restricted access gas containment zone is provided with a gas supply to provide a low-drag gas to the enclosed zone to substantially exclude working gas passing through the compressor from entering the enclosed zone, so as to reduce the drag on the rotor. A shroud seal between the shroud and the surrounding portion of the machine limits the passage of the gas relative to the zone.

摘要: A centrifugal compressor for compressing a fluid in a gas phase or a supercritical phase includes: a rotational shaft; an axial flow path extending along an axial direction of the centrifugal compressor; a radial flow path communicating with the axial flow path and extending along a radial direction of the centrifugal compressor on a downstream side of the axial flow path; an impeller at least partially disposed in the radial flow path and configured to rotate together with the rotational shaft to increase pressure of the fluid flowing in the radial flow path; and a pre-compression unit disposed in the axial flow path at a position distant from a leading edge of the impeller on an upstream side of the leading edge and configured to increase the pressure of the fluid in advance before the fluid is introduced to the leading edge.
