    摘要: A wedge clutch assembly for transferring torque from an engine to an output shaft, comprising a clutch carrier comprising an axial friction surface and a radially inwardly facing surface, a hub comprising a first radially outwardly facing surface having grooves positioned circumferentially thereon and detents positioned within the grooves, a wedge plate comprising an axial friction surface, a second radially outwardly facing surface, and a second radially inwardly facing surface having recesses, a pressure plate concentrically arranged within the first radially inwardly facing surface and displaceable such that in an engaged mode, an axial force is applied to the pressure plate, in a first axial direction, to engage the wedge plate with the clutch carrier such that torque is transferred from the engine to the output shaft, and in a disengaged mode, the wedge plate is independently rotatable from the clutch carrier.

    摘要: A drive disconnect clutch assembly, including: an input component arranged to receive torque from a motor; an output gear; and a clutch including: a flexible piston plate; at least one clutch plate; at least one wedge plate; and friction material disposed between the at least one clutch plate and the at least one wedge plate. For a synchronizing mode, the flexible piston plate is arranged to displace in an axial direction to engage the at least one clutch plate with the at least one wedge plate to enable transfer of torque from the input component to the output gear. For a locked mode, a first portion of the flexible piston plate is arranged to further displace in the first axial direction to expand the at least one wedge plate radially outward and non-rotatably connect the at least one wedge plate, the input component, and the output gear.

    摘要: A mechanism with an inner race, which has cams, an outer race and rollers between the cams and the outer race. The inner race has a first notch while the outer race has a second notch with a narrow portion and a wider portion. A member is disposed in the first and second notches. Positioning of the member in the first notch and the narrow portion of the second notch inhibits relative rotation between the inner and outer races and power is not transmitted between the outer race and a power transmitting member, such as a gear. Positioning of the member in the first notch and the wider portion of the second notch permits some relative rotation between the inner and outer races to cause the cams to urge the rollers outwardly so that the outer race frictionally engages the power transmitting member to facilitate transmission of rotary power therebetween.
