    Abstract: Provided is a high heat resistant brake disk for a railroad vehicle, which is manufactured using a nano material having high heat conductivity, such as a carbon nanotube (CNT) or graphene, to improve heat resistance of an overheated portion of the brake disk, and which can extend a life of the brake disk by suppressing performance deterioration due to a thermal shock. The high heat resistant brake disk includes a hub inserted into an axle of the railroad vehicle and an outer circumference coupled to a vehicle wheel to coaxially rotate with the vehicle wheel, wherein at least one pattern unit made from a high heat resistant nano material is formed on one surface of the brake disk.

    Abstract: In order to reduce torsional vibrations and wheel slip in a wheel set for a rail vehicle the wheel set comprising a pair of wheels connected by an axle is provided with a vibration absorbing device comprising a mass, resiliently mounted on the wheel set and adapted to oscillate at the resonant frequency of torsional vibrations of the wheel/axle system. A method of preventing or reducing torsional vibrations in a wheel set of a rail vehicle is also disclosed, the method comprising determining the resonant frequency of torsional vibrations of the wheel/axle system and resiliently mounting a vibration absorbing device in the form of a mass, on the wheel set, the mass and its resilient mounting being selected to oscillate at or near that resonant frequency.

    Abstract: A brake disk includes a ring body in a ring groove on a side of a friction ring which is not acted upon for connecting the mutually opposite ends of friction ring segments with one another. The ring bodies prevent an expanding of the juncture caused by centrifugal force as well as a radial relative displacement of the ends of the ring segments, while a limited relative rotation of the faces of the ring segments is possible when an air gap exists at the juncture.

    Abstract: A wheel has a central hub and an outer rim interconnected by a web, with a pair of annular braking discs being mounted one on each side of the web and each composed of at least two curved segments, each secured to the web by a number of wide clearance bolts, at least two close clearance bolts and at least two further bolts.
