    摘要: An indexing and braking mechanism for a manual transmission having a shifting mechanism and at least one rotatable drive shaft is disclosed. The mechanism includes an indexing mechanism for controlling movement of the shifting mechanism between at least a first position and a neutral position. The indexing mechanism has a plate having a plurality of notches formed thereon, wherein one notch corresponds to the first position and another notch corresponds to the neutral position. A locking mechanism is provided for selectively limiting movement of one of the at least one rotatable drive shaft. The locking mechanism is adapted to selectively engage the plurality of notches to selectively maintain the indexing mechanism in one of the first position and the neutral position. The locking mechanism includes an indexing lever having a contact surface for contacting the rotatable drive shaft.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a reverse brake incorporated into the geartrain of a manual transmission which functions to stop inertial rotation of the input shaft prior to engagement of reverse gear. In particular, a constant-mesh gearset is operable with a first clutch to establish a forward drive connection between the input shaft and the output shaft, and is further operable with a second clutch to brake rotation of the input shaft without establishing a forward drive connection with the output shaft.

    摘要: A dual wet output clutch for a continuously variable transmission which acts as a starting clutch upon a signal from a throttle induced hydraulic fluid supply to connect the transmission with the vehicle wheels and replaces a mechanical forward-neutral-reverse selection by hydraulic actuation of one of the dual clutches to provide forward or reverse power. Also, a secondary mechanism is utilized with the reverse gear to deactivate the reverse clutch in the forward mode and reduce drag loss.

    摘要: A transmission has a drive train which is coupled with the engine, e.g. an automotive vehicle and a reversing gear connected to the output shaft. A slidable gear shifted on a fixed shaft, continuously meshes with a gear of the drive train and can be brought into mesh with the reversing gear for reverse drive. According to the invention the shiftable gear is connected with a synchronizing ring which has a frustoconical surface engaging the frustoconical surface of a synchronizing disk which is keyed to the fixed shaft when the slidable gear is shifted toward the reversing gear to stand still. The synchronizing disk or member on the shaft can be entrained with the sliding gear upon overcoming the force of a detent formed by a bore on the fixed shaft which is biased outwardly by a wedge member and an axial spring in the fixed shaft.

    摘要: A tractor transmission having an input shaft, a PTO system transmission shaft disposed thereunder, a gear-type speed change mechanism for changing the number of rotations of the input shaft, and oil reservoir. A gear in engagement with the gear in said gear-type speed change mechanism is rotatably disposed at said PTO system transmission shaft and blades are disposed at the boss of this first-mentioned gear. At least one side of each of said blades is opened toward said oil reservoir. Lubricating oil in said oil reservoir is utilized as resistance to the blades, thereby to stop the rotation of the gear-type speed change mechanism otherwise caused due to the force of inertia.

    摘要: The after-running gearwheel of a transmission is engaged by a idler gear mounted for axial movement and rotation. The idler has a conical surface that engages a complementary surface formed on a countercone, which is mounted within the bore of the idler on a common fixed shaft. The shift mechanism moves the idler and countercone forward on the shaft into engagement with the rotating gearwheel. The countercone upon being driven by friction at the mating cone surfaces is fixed against rotation, thereby developing a braking torque that operates to stop the idler and gearwheel. Upon further axial movement, the idler is brought into engagement with the gearwheel on the output shaft.
