A PTFE rotary shaft seal assembly includes an annular seal case mountable within a bore of a housing and a wafer fabricated of PTFE. An outer region of the wafer is captured by the seal case and in inner region extends to a central opening of the wafer. The wafer includes coined fluid pumping impressions formed on a first side of the wafer and coined flexing impressions formed on an opposite second side of the wafer. The wafer further includes a coined static band portion encircling the central opening and being free of fluid pumping impressions. A method of making such a wager and seal assembly is also provided.

High temperature dryer seals and related methods are provided. A high temperature dryer seal can include a first substrate having first and second ends and first and second sides. The first substrate can include a low-melt polymer. The first end and the second end of the first substrate can secured together so that the first substrate forms at least a portion of an annular shape. The dryer seal can also include a second substrate secured to the first substrate at the second side of the first substrate. The second substrate can include a high temperature material that has a higher melting point than the low-melt polymer of the first substrate. The dryer seal also includes a heat resistant coating attached to the second substrate with the heat resistant coating being activated at a temperature that is higher than a melting point of the low-melt polymer.

A method of making a flexible seal includes obtaining rigid shims, wherein each rigid shim is a resin impregnated fabric having a three-dimensional structure comprising fibers disposed in three-dimensions. The rigid shims are stacked with intermediate elastomer layers to form alternate layers of intermediate elastomer layer and rigid shim. The stack of rigid shims and intermediate elastomer layer in a seal mold. The intermediate elastomer layers are cured to obtain the flexible seal having alternate layers of rigid shims and elastomer layers. Flexible seals prepared according to the method are also contemplated.

A gas turbine seal assembly includes a gas turbine component and a gas turbine seal component contacting the gas turbine component to form a seal between the two components. The gas turbine seal component includes ceramic matrix composite plies bonded together to form the ceramic matrix composite component. A bond-inhibiting coating on a non-bonding portion of a first surface of one of the ceramic matrix composite plies prevents bonding between the non-bonding portion of the first surface and a second surface of a neighboring ceramic matrix composite ply. At least one bonding portion of the first surface lacking the bond-inhibiting coating is bonded to the second surface. A method of forming a ceramic matrix composite component includes selectively applying a bond-inhibiting coating to a non-bonding portion of a first surface of a ceramic matrix composite ply and bonding the ceramic matrix composite plies together.

The object of the present invention is to provide a gasket forming mold with a structure in which curling of the reversing section of the gasket molding does not occur easily. To achieve said object, the forming mold for integrally forming an endless shaped gasket has forming grooves as cavities in the parting surfaces of the forming mold and the forming grooves have a reversing section in a part thereof. The reversing section has two linear portions and the ends of the two linear portions are connected by an arc-shaped curved section. The two linear portions are arranged at literally-symmetrical positions and are arranged so that a distance therebetween is enlarged little by little from one end toward the other. The ends where said distance is enlarged are connected by the circular arc-shaped curved section.

The skiving seal includes a flexible sheet having a surface and a length. The skiving seal includes a tubular portion formed by folding the flexible sheet over itself from an edge extending along the length of the flexible sheet without creasing the fold and adhesively adhering a portion of the folded portion of the flexible sheet to the surface of the flexible sheet along the length of the flexible sheet. The skiving seal includes an adhesive-coated area unobstructed on the surface of the flexible sheet for adhesively affixing the skiving seal in the toner container system.
